99, because we were clearly the best team
can't say the same for the other years.

If you guys are counting the years when you were the best team and didnt win the flag then the Bulldogs went back to back in 97-98
2001 or 83 for me. Stealing a premiership from either of those awesome teams would have been an awesome feat.
Obviously 1990. That was a shocker, at least in 01 we put in a half decent effort.
Haven't seen 83, was to young.
If you look at the history books, I'm sure that time we lost to melbourne after drawing against them the previous week, would be the worst ever loss in a GF we had.
We kicked something like 9.27. That's terrible! **** Reynolds wouldn't move the fullforward as he didn't want to be nasty to him.
How the game has changed.
2001 would have been great. Against the Brisbane Lions and it would have been 2 Grand Finals in a row. 99 also would have been good due to the fact that we were the best team. The other ones I was too young to see.

1990 - we will never live down losing to Collingwood in a grand final.
I'd take them all
1983 would have been awesome, as we hadn't won one in my lifetime up until that.
1990 would have cancelled certain jokes I've hated since.
1999 we were clearly the best side, but how would that have impacted on 2000? I still reckon e'd have on it.
2001. Again, we were the best team all year, but got done by a fitter team on the day.
If I had to choose just one, I'd go for 1999.
I hate Carlton, and that's something they have over us.
And in some respects it continues, even no they're rubbish they always have a crack against us.

Mero, ask them how they went the next week...I`ll take 1993 over a prelim any day of the week.

I was too young to appreciate the significance of the 1990 loss, so i'll go with 2001. I still think we were the best side that year, but...:(
If anyone wasn't old enough to be around in 90.... remember what the Collingwood supporters were like b4 the 2002 and 2003 GF's
Multiply THAT by 100.....and you get 1990.
There is NO peer for a Loss IMO :(

99 hurt like a bugger and still does IMO.
90 is alomst a distant memory although being the club that excorised the "collywobbles" will always be the shame we'll never live down.

1999 for me. That prelim totally sucked (esp since I'd come down from Sydney for it), and we were easily the best side all year.

Hypotheitically - if Essendon won the flag in '99 - would they have been so dominating in 2000? I reckon no.
So based on that (and the fact that I hate Brisbane more than any other team) I'd say 2001. At least we could have stopped the Lions winning 3 in a row by beating them the 1st time.
As for Carlton, they may bleat about '99, but look where they were (they didn't win the flag in 99 anyways!) and look where they are now. Seeing Carlton struggling now is payback for 99.

Ditto.
As for '99, I'm not too sure. I think, without the loss in 99, we wouldn't have been so awesome in 2000, and I wouldn't give 2000 back for anything.
As Carlton is so popular here 1968,3 points loss, devastating.
Any loss to them in any context remains IT,so 1999.
