Only a pre-season game but still glad we won - would have been a waste to lose after that effort.

Very proud of my boy Murphy doing his best to stick it up all those who thought trading Cory for him was a bad move  Also a relief to see he'd rather beat Freo by 8 points...

Mercuri looks like he can still dance, and stood up when it counted.

Hird was Hird.

Winderlich showed again that he'll be a player, though i wish he'd get more of the ball.

Stanton was VERY impressive (17 y.o ?!?!).

Watson showed a bit in the first half.

And i really really really can't stand Farmer.

The kids looked great tonight. I think the exciting thing is we have Dyson, Nash, Reynolds, Laycock, and Johns still hidden away.

Yes. Freo were atfull strength. At one stage, i thought Pavlich wasn't playing when in fact he was! He was just getting a bath from his opponent.

I am very impressed with some of the kids. Stanton didn't get much ground time in the 1st half, but this kid showed a whole heap of promise in the 2nd half.

Sheedy seemed very impressed with bradley and stanton.
Both played solid games, Stanton did some great work on the wing in the second half.
Welsh was fantastic - he's gonna win a best and fairest one day.
It was a pleasure (as always) to watch James in action.

We basically beat a full strength Freo away from home in ludicrously humid conditions with half a dozen kids.

Very happy.

Another young player not mentioned in dispatches was Marc Bullen.
For mine, he helped turn the game in the third.
He got plenty of it, and found one of our players every time.

I also liked Lovett-Murray, who kicks a mile, and has those silky skills associated with many aboriginal players.

Yes, after doing well in 2 practise matches, we can conclude that the trade is infact a success..

i didn't see the game, but from the pictures of bullen i've seen on the website, he appears to have bulked up significantly.

Good win guys but I think I can pretty much guarantee you that we were a few shy of our best team ....we had the likes of a rookie, Ben Cunningham, Andrew Browne and draftee in Dunn (though to be fair Gilmore and Browne played well).

Though to be fair we were closer to full strength than yourselves and unusually for Pavlich he was MIA.

It was a high class game in very testing conditions. Actually to be honest its probably the best pre-season game I have watched.

Your kids were actually a positive on the night, I was very impressed with Stanton and L_Murray (though he should have centered to Lloydy in the square rather than having a shot from the boundary - he will learn). Kepler can play (I know that) and didnt show all he can do and Watson had his moments.

Hirds still Hird, Lloyd is still Lloyd.

Good win ....see you in the H&A!

The Ess v Freo rivalry is building.....Expect a full house at the dome mid year as both teams will be high on the ladder IMO.

It's hardly a rivalry when we've beaten them three times in a role now, and when we meet again in the House of Horrors, it'd be four in a role. :)

Good win from Essendon.

Seemed like a Full Stength Fremantle team to me, against an Essendon team with a few youngsters.

Good Signs for the Home and Away Season.

Next up is either Hawthorn or Brisbane.

Pleased with a win after 7 losses on the trot.

Stanton did show a fair bit. Thought cartledge has improved (and he did need to!!!) Hille is bigger and stronger, Welsh is going from strength to strength (FUTURE CAPTAIN!!!)

The two players I was most excited about were Watson and Bullen - both will play in the firsts this year. Bullen will become a very very good player - his ball handling skills are very good. And Watson reminds me a bit of Hird in the sense that he seems like he has so much time when he gets it.

Bradley will be a KPP not a ruck - but geez he may turn into a pinch hitter in the ruck which could be great.

One question - is Rioli that fcking DUMB!! He thought we were winning at halftime. Is on this planet?? Should be right to go this week though so lets hope he can play some good footy.

AND GOON OF THE WEEK GOES TO.......................DAVIES!!!!

This guy is fcking USELESS why the hell di we sup list him. He still looks like a FCKING HEADLESS CHICKEN!!!

Insulting cranium challenged Chickens in that way is not appropriate on this board.... :D

Davies was way worse than that.

He didn't have a particularly good game let's just say that and leave it there. Let's not hack on the boy, he is a Bomber you know. Let's hack on someone from the Magpies, it's much more fun.

example : Nathan Buckley = Handbag throwing big girl's blouse

See? Much more fun.:D

We showed plenty across each line which was what impressed me.

We are going to make changes for the brisbane game, to give more members of the squad a hitout etc.

Has he ever had a good game????????????????????????

And paying out Poiys players is only fun when you are doing it to Poiys fans - that satisfaction of ruffling a few feathers.

Maybe not, but give the boy time and a bit of confindence and we'll see if he does. If not, then he'll be delisted by the end of the year and he shouldn't be upset with himself as he did what he could.
