i have no idea whether or not this is just a rumer, or if it is for real, but i heard on channel 7 news that WOEY and FARMER might be leaving the melbourne footy club!!! :eek: :( :confused:
apparently, both of their contracts have run out, and the MFC offered them money and ******** to stay, but they refused. both west coast and freo have shown alot of intrest in the boys (DER!!!, they ********ing rule!!!) and because woey and wizzy are from around there, they might except the offers (which were higher than the MFC offered).
i'm writing a letter to the MFC, woey, and farmer trying to convince them to stay. if any of ya want to put ya names on the bottum of it, just let me know. i just hope they do stay!!!

i wouldnt worry about writing a letter mish. the club wont do anything until the end of the season, and i think they guys have the brains to stay at melbourne after all the club has done for them. the only one i would be worried about is WIZ cos he has his kids and that over there, but dont worry about it
I'd make sure they were signed up before the end of the season. We never thought Belly would leave North for the money but look what happened. They will have a new coach, new administration, another cleanout of there second tier players and will be cashed up.
They will do anything to get the bronlow medalist. You will lose one of them just as we couldn't afford to keep King and Belly, one of them will go.

It was reported in Wednesday's Hun that Woey has just spent $800,000 on a house in Melbourne, so I don't think he'll be leaving your club anytime soon.
Jeff Farmer on the other hand, I wouldn't be surprised if he heads off home as his heart really does seem to be in WA. Farmer is a good player and if Melbourne plays their cards right, you should be able to squeeze a good deal out of either Freo or the Eagles.

Melbourne would want some high draft picks because those clubs' talent isn't much chop.
The media do like to beat these things up. Its a concern but should be OK. Woey has just purchased a house in the same suburb as me and paid a hell of a lot for it so I don't think he will be packing his bags just yet. I'd be more concerned if they have not signed by about late August.

I have just read an article saying the AFL has a rule is a team wins 5 or less games in the season it is eligible for special help therefor they could take woewodin or farmer. And woe hasnt redfused contracts, they are unable to decide on what he should be paid and Jeff Farmer wants to finish the season before negotiating a new deal. "Woewodin recently bought a luxury townhouse in East Brighton believed to be worth more than $600,000."

I can't se Woey leaving after all the encouragment he's recieved from the MFC - remember no one in the West wanted to give him a go - I know I used to watch him play for East Freo & thought he was a champion player then
Farmer maybe dicey but, come on, he wants a premiership as much as the rest of us & he ain't gonna get one playing for Freo (who ditch him remember) & hell he'd hate the enviroment of The Coasters
but yeah the MFC will have to work on it, but as we all know - NOT UNTIL THE END OF THE YEAR

i hope all of you are right, and that they don't leave.
i was thinking about it, and because of farmers family over there, he may go... :( but hopefully he wouldn't.
woey on the other hand, well, i hope he stays, and i think its safe to say, i'm sure he will stay.

I think loyalty is only cheque book deep.Buying a house in Melbourne means nothing.After all Modra is buying a property in the South west here and he is retiring next year.

wanaganeen also built a house in melbourne just before he left essendon, i wouldnt be reading too much into this just buying a house thing, that could have been settled with the intentions of melbourne offering him what he wanted
that being said melbourne like all clubs are in the position of having to wait to sign most players because the afl has yet to release salary cap figures for the following years
woewodin has though knocked back one offer

Ahhh Freo stealing Farmer from Melbourne.
Why yes that would be sweet.
But personally he isnt worht picks 1 and 2 that we would have to probally trade for him.
You can have a 3rd round pick and Bandy for him.

besides even if they do leave we still have a full list of fantastic players... more than i can say for your team! HAHAHAHAHAHA 9-0 yep a good year your dockers a having!

Peter Bell did. At $500-600,000 a year, I'm sure Woewodin and Farmer would both consider it.

Now I have avoided attacking yoru scum club for sum time now.
Deliberately not come to this board, and not get in fight with 2 certain "chicks" on this board.
But you just couldnt help yourself.
Yes freo are going through a rough spot, but our team arnt cheaters, our players arnt dobbers and our board are not egotistical back stabbers.
The question is do teams reflect there supporters?
Freo lost all nine games, does this mean that there supporters are losers?
Maybe.
Or maybe we are the real thing.
So are demons supporters backstabbers,cheaters,dobbers, little rich boys with nothin better to do than compare the size of there "assests"???

you know sabre life is funny.... life is also short and you should say what you think when you think it coz you never know what will happen tommorow... so have a go at me at my club and i will have a go right back at you! its human nature to critize and be mean... humans are cruel and they make stupid decisions and they say stupid things and if you still haven't realise that its time to wake up!

Before I came to this board I knew very little about the supporters of each of the victorian clubs.
Since then I have learnt from sum of the more learned posters and from watching that GENERALLY melbourne supporters are upper class snobs. Who have a habbit of knocking other clubs.
Now I have a history on this board of not gettign along with the demon supporters.It has died down and I have done my best not to ignite the issue again.
I came to this board for the first time in a long time,and I had some light hearted trading games with one of your posters.
Dees rules couldnt help herself but attack Fremantle and there supporters.
So my backlash was called for and accurate.
Dont you dare call me anoying or a little ********.When you know very little about me.
Especially when you have sat on the fence for most of the little battlers between the clubs supporters.
Your occasional comment is never based on wat was said, and always personal.
My questions to you is
Are you like your club?
And can you READ

well, i'm sure if you 'sat on the fence ' the problem you've been talking about with the 2 clubs will go away. i actually didn't sit on the fence, i read everything, and thaught about. there are enough people in this to make it bad enough. what i will say, is that when i see you giving sh!t to MY friends, i'm not gonna just sit there and do nothing. as you can probably see, i start getiing into these little arguments when it starts getting personaly, and when the argument starts leading off the footy, because i'm NOT gonna sit there and watch my own friends get heart, because some little ********er, and yes, i said little ********er, came along, and gave us ********, for no reason.
just to let you know, when i started this thread, i started it on the demons board, and didn't say anything wrong to abuse freo what so ever. and guess what? neither did any one else! you are the one that came to us, giving US ******** about it. you pounced at the opportunity to bag us, and then you try and play innocent and say WE are upper class snobs. we were minding our own business, diccusing what may happen to MELBOUNRE players, and you came along and started with us. we're not gonna sit there and do nothing!

Sabre, there is a misconception about Melbourne supporters.
For a start MOST members are ordinary working class people and these people generally sit in the red seats and the outer at the MCG.
We have about 2,500 MCC members who are also Football Club members...now a lot of flak is brought on MCC members (who are represented by all clubs, but Melbourne has the most, about 20,000 pls and most of these don't buy a MFC membership)
Its the MCC members that have a bad reputatioh wiith the rest of the footy world....of being snobs, tartan rugs, snow bunnies etc. but yuou have to remember, many of these MCC members also support other teams....so there is your misconception of Melbourne supporters...hope you understand what I wrote..its a little complex.
Yeah I have a bee in the bonnet about MCC members and so do all the other MFC members do too...its a constant source of speculation why these guys who supposedly follow MFC don't ever buy membership ....its just that I have the courage to write it on this MB!!
From this you may be able to summise that because Melbourne has such a bad reputation as being snobs, when in facts its USUALLY ONLY the MCC members have such a reputation, that many dees supporters are a little agresssive in their manner of defending their club...its because we have an undeserved reputation.
