Yeah, with a quality midfield around him on Saturday, he would have gone alright.

I thought he looked alright. He did a couple of nice taps down to Bucks which impressed me. Let's hope!!!!

Come on guys he was crap.
He was thrashed in the ruck.
He two 2 marks around the ground and had no idea what the rules were for this comp.
If you think this guy is our big hope we are in deep sh1t.

Murray if we cant find any positives out of the game we may as well slash our wrists now. He looked better than other more experienced and better credentialed players. And lets not forget that half of the umpires dont know the Wizard cup rules!

Richards needs to stand up to free Fraser to play more in the forward line.

there have been very few young ruckmen in their first game who have played a blinder.
If the back six are the foundation which makes a team competitive, how do you explain them flapping and flopping around like a bunch of penguins looking for a pond?
In all sports its a strong defensive system (plus the personnel to execute it) that gets teams to finals and the strongest defence generally wins finals.
Whether it be soccer or american football where the two teams who made it to the super bowl where the two strongest defensive teams.
forwards may win you games but a solid defence makes you consistently competitive.

If Richards and Davidson deliver our side takes a whole new look.
The hopes of our untried kids.

GG I did find positives in the game, namely Cole, Didak, to a degree McKee and of course Bucks.
But unlike a lot of Collingwood supporters I can take a step back and look objectively at who failed.
Richards failed miserably.
BTW this was not his first game as someone else said on here, he played in a Wizzer cup match a couple of years ago.
Did you know he has been at the club for 4 years.
He and Kinnear are in a contest with each othe to see who can get long service leave whilst playing less than 50 games.

Did you know he missed a season due to kidney problems? Also, isn't it always said that rucks take longer to develop?

If Guy Richards can be a quality senior ruckman we will made a big improvement. Unfortunately he is light and has not shown a lot to date so it's a longshot in the short term.
