Adelaide has a new sponsor of its home-match footballs for the next two seasons – Mistral, an electrical goods manufacturer which is part of the newly-formed Gerard Corporation.
And the Gerard Corporation has joined Adelaide’s major partner Toyota, Foodland and the SA Brewing Company as the club’s premier partners.
Premier partners are classed as “protected sponsors”. Under the terms of the AFL’s collective bargaining agreement, companies contributing more than $250,000 a year to clubs receive such “protection”.
Robert Gerard, Adelaide’s patron and former No. 1 ticket-holder, is the chairman and managing director of the Gerard Corporation.
Adelaide chief executive officer Steven Trigg said on Wednesday that Mr Gerard and his group of companies had been magnificent supporters of South Australian sport, particularly the Crows since they joined the AFL in 1991.
“This latest partnership is more significant than ever,” Trigg said. “It is vital for the club and is greatly appreciated.”
Mr Gerard said: “The Gerard family is pleased to continue its strong association with the Crows after the transformation to the Gerard Corporation and the brand name from Clipsal to Mistral.”
Sorry guys - not Coopers.
Mistral is the new sponsor of the home match footballs.
I have always been a "fan" of Mistral:o
