Just wondering the major league in Tassie is now. I want to include picking the premiers into my state league tipping comp ....
There are 2 - AFL Tas North and AFL Tas South

AFL Tas North (formerly NTFL) is stronger.

AFL Northern Tasmania is miles ahead of the AFL Southern Tasmania. Better ran, and they haven't got any infighting between clubs, that I know of.
Maybe someone from the north needs to help save the Southern league down here. I'm hoping that the new President of the AFL Southern Tasmania will help the league get back on track.
Up until the 90's the strongest area of football (crowds, better grounds, most members, bigger clubs, best players etc) would more than probably would have been in the South.
The NTFL has beaten the SFL every year since 1996 - I believe you can only count that, as something that actually MEANS something from 2000 onwards.
Now that all the former Statewide clubs from the South (with the exception of Sandy Bay, who folded in 1997) are in the one league down here (as the North and North-Western clubs are up there in the NTFL) That can be the yardstick, of which is the stronger.
The NTFL (AFL North) has shat all over the SFL (AFL South) in the last few years, better organised, better relationship with ALL clubs, don't tolerate inter-club bickering, resolve problems pro-actively, have better grounds for matches, have better crowds at thier games, have better media coverage, have a far superior junior development program, better involvement within the Northern community.
I could go on for four hours on what the North does better than the South sadly, it really has come to that.
This is in all likelihood why AFL is NOT going to be played in the South - because we cannot get our sh*t together down here.
NTFL by a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG way at the moment. :(

Also the Football in the South have a bunch of idiots in control. Hopefully this new guy in charge of the AFL South will be able to make it a better league.
Next the league has to think about the Hobart/Kingborough battle over the nickname "Tigers" I'm sure 2 clubs can exist with the same nickname. IT's not like the nickname clashes with anything. The jumpers, however, is a different story.
