great article, with links on the right side on recent articles regarding cricket in the USA.

key facts-
*TV contract reached supposedly
*8 cities
*20 0vers format (like twenty20 in Eng)
*Salaries up to $60,000 a season for players
*All-Star game to be in Aug in Vegas

well, i think its great, but i have to admit, i am very skeptical about all of this.

nothing on the website yet

And just watch the ICC jump on board and fast track an American team to full ODI status if this comes off. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but they really need to breed local players and not just Indian or West Indian expats.

Hmm, and now the US gets a run in the ICC Trophy as well. Wheels within wheels.

I didn't think the US had a cricket team, I'd really like to see an All Star game. The World Champs Vs The World. Or something like that.

If this is true, how long before:

a) A heap of fringe Shield players go over to play, because they can earn more than they do here, and then
b) A heap of top line Shield players go over there to play, because they can earn more than they do here.

If salaries are starting at 60k, the way US sports work, how long before they start paying over the top salaries, and it becomes too much of a temptation?

No different to a guy going to England now. Plus it would help out the locals with exposure to decent players.
