Twice in the last couple of weeks John Townsend ( The West Australian) has hinted that Ryan Campbell will move to Victoria.
Towsend is usually pretty spot on with these things and i suspect he moght know something we dont.
The Question is do Vic need him?

No, I wouldn't have thought so. I reckon he's needed more in his own state than any other in the country.

He's probably making a move so he can do a bit more media so when his career finishes he can make an easy transition.
Two or three years ago it was rumoured he would move to Vic.I think it was when he was knocking boots with Malthouse.

Yeah I heard that rumour come up again. Would hate to lose him - on his day he's still one of the most devastating batsmen in the Pura Cup. Not easy to replace.
Of course the Inness to WA rumour persists too.
Maybe we can do a straight swap for the two? :p
He must like something about the Melbourne grade scene because he wouldn't get a game for Victoria.

I don't think he's the sort of player we need at all. I really do rate him, but he's not young and we have Roach and Crosthwaite ready to go (and that's just assuming that Berry retires).

Every year the same rumour surfaces, and every year it gets knocked on the head.
I would take Campbell, be silly not to take a player of his class, however we don't really have a need for him.
Besides, if we lose the final, Chuck will be playing on, so there would be no sense bringing in Campbell.

The Question is do Vic need him?Hmmm! It gets curiouser and curiouser... Went to Queensland for a week in early Febraury, and had to catch the redeye from Hobart to Melbourne. Might go some way to explaining the presence of Christie Malthouse on the plane *with* Ryan Campbell. Or vice versa...

Yeah, it would give us a keeper who could bat. Could even do a better job than our openers as a specialist batsman! :o
