View Full Version : Can we keep it going now?

Seems to me unlikely that the current team will be changed.
Geelong now have a formline of W2, ours is W3.
Geelong have some good players, some good talls, and arguably the #1 ruckman in the AFL (particularly as Primus is injured at the moment).
Not as easy as it seemed to be a couple of weeks ago. Crows need to maintain focus & commitment, and not just assume their momentum will continue.
Still, I'd put us down as favourites to win at Footy Park, given Geelongs record there.
Ahhh Geelong, worst team in the AFL at footy park, i think we will absolutely hammer em!
CARN THE CROWS!
Now that we have our forward line in some sort of good form (scored over 100 pts last 3 games :)!), cant see us losing this against the pussies!
P.S ISNT IT GREAT TO BE IN THE 8!
WE COULD BE 9-5 in 5 weeks time

I think Ayres has got the crows right where he wants them:p
Look I think we played alright in the Ansett Cup; (a point he raised when interviewed.) We were improving each week.
An old finals campaigner like him can feel it in his grion that the crows are running into form at a good time of the year.
We can consolidate the plays that are starting to reap rewards for us in recent weeks
1. Take a flogging from Port on the chin; LETS GET ON WITH IT Ayresy wouldve said.
2. Hard at the ball (Just like Ayresy was in the wet when some pride was on the line
3. A couple of players back- Johnson and Burton who have really added spark with Bicks rotatin of the bench.
We just gotta do something about the takeaways from a kick in.
Kick Straight or MAN UP
And er...Go Crows:mad:

well crows.ok, seeing as Geelong have a record against he crows at football park of 1-7, i think i know who ill be tipping. Crows by a good 8 or 9 goals.
I have to say i couldnt see you winning against richmond or brisbane a few weeks back...even tho i do think richmond are pretenders now, i think that brisbane tend to play their best at home, and you beat them there (altho you had some dubious decisions go in your favour) and i think if you could beat them away, you should beat geelong by a good 8-9-10 goals this week.

If your talking about Jarman holding the ball in the last quarter Id agree with you.
That probably wouldve been paid in the course of the game.
However one free kick doesnt make a game.
We had some terrible frees against our rucks that left me non plussed (on the wing when the lions had the ascendancy was one I can remember)
Thats a big win up there when Brisbane are comin' of a loss.
We'll take it.

Ya memorys good macca,Maybe Im one-eye blind.
But theres an old saying in football " We'll take it...."
With a free kick count of 16 to 12, I dont see them grisslin.
It was the ones we didnt get that were there: and the 2 they got that werent there: that annoys my vocal chords!!
And Er...Go CrOwS
:)
There was the questionable Vardy 50m penalty but the Burton free in front of goal was certainly there (showed on the replay). What other free kicks resulted in goals??
I was a bit annoyed with the goal by Tyson Edwards that was supposedly touched on the line. That seemed a little dubious.

Ive watched that replay until I came to the conclusion that umpires have got to have one eye on gettin' cleaned up, it must have been close
He was in a better position than most! So Ill give em that one.
The thing I liked about Edwards is his ability to pepper the goals after doing a lot o work around halfback. Hardball gets.
When hes prepared to run down like he did, augers well for the Crows.
Hes my pick for the AFC Team man award. I know he has no Brownlow votes, but thats an aberration!!
Tyson Edwards Stats
Games Kicks Marks H'bls Goals B'low Vs
9 140 41 57 5 0
Barring injury he should Sh!t in.:o His bulking up I reckon..... I can just see him and Roo bench pressin together.
And Er...Go Crows:rolleyes: :eek: :confused::mad:

thats exactly what pisses me off about umpires...they miss dead blatant ones, and pay tiggy touchwood free kicks. Youll also notice that Port rarely get a free anywhere forward of centre.
I also want to know when players were allowed to drop the ball or throw it away when being tackled. Last time i checked the rule book you still had to dispose of it properly, yet in the last two weeks there should of been about 35 holding the balls that havent been paid when players have just dropped the ball or thrown it off.

I have noticed the lame "dropping the ball" and then an awful attempt at swinging half a leg at the ball, by McLeod, in particular on a couple of occasions.
Still as long as the maggots are consistent.....;)
And Er.... Go Crows:(

I'd love to see Tyson get it...but I reckon Mark Stevens would be a very strong chance for that award this year. He's been pretty solid, welook better with him back there and the Coach keeps saying good things about him.
