apparantly this mob that investigated murali last time admitted they never tested out his new ball that spins the other way, and it looks decidedly more suspicious than his normal off break.

Get set for another crackdown, or is this issue going to be dead and buried based on results some 7 years ago?

Without having the article here in front of me, some of the people working at the ICC are concerned over the number of suspicious actions at the recent under-19's world cup, and the multitude of youngsters from the sub continent copying murali's action.

Surprise, surprise. This is the precise point many of us have been trying to make. Since Murali's action was passed as "legal", he has added a few different balls (the doosra being one of them) to his arsenal. These deliveries are even more suspicious than when he was initially no-balled by Umpire Hair.

And the second point about copying Murali's action was inevitable.

Here's the article you're referring to nicho:

Pretty damning to be coming from the guy who cleared Murali's action.

Harbhajan Singh came up with his own doosra a year or so back, which was also a blatant throw. Thankfully he seemed to drop it when he came to Australia, probably because he didn't have the control to execute it well then. It wouldn't surprise me if more offies (especially on the subcontinent) started bowling similar deliveries, because of the huge amount of spin you can get from using both your wrist and elbow to turn the ball.

If Murali gets away with it, why wouldn't you?

Also, a sports scientist from Cricket Australia has completed a study that may lead to rules being amended to allow fast bowlers to bend their arms further during delivery.Watch out baseball

Ridiculous... they're killing the old tradition, principles and the integrity of the game by having that stupid degree of tolerance.

"Asia represents 40% of the ICC. Virtually, Asia is the ICC."
Ehsan Mani, the ICC's president

That would be the perfect reason why Murali won't be called up ever again
