View Full Version : Neitz Is Useless
What a waste of space Neitz is at the moment. The reason why, he is not in the right position. We keep saying keep him up forward, he will kick a bag. Where is it? Nine rounds in and he has been pathetic. Even for his confidence he should go up back, to get a touch. His kicking at goal is awful and he has no idea what to do when the opposition have the ball in our forward line. Play him where he was recruited to play!
His stats today were very flattering. I think something like 12 kicks and 9 marks. He had no influence today at all, and in the Melbourne games I have seen this season (been to at least three, plus a couple more I saw on TV) he has had no impact and very little of the ball.
Using him up forward would probably be a ploy to stretch opposition defences, but it's not working. Playing him in defence with Nicholson and Ingerson would leave the defence top heavy and a bit vulnerable when the ball hits the deck.
Perhaps Neitz and Ingerson in the key defensive posts, with Nicholson rucking around the ground after White takes the bounces and runs forward.

he is our captain and if you don't like him dees01 maybe you should look for another club!
Don't you start getting on my back dees Rule. Since when is it a crime to offer some constructive criticism?
DeeGirl, you can't say what you have said and not tell us the full story.

Neita is having a bad patch at the moment.
I too think there is more than meets, the eye. I somehow think its behind the scene stuff, affecting his football. You can see by the way he is playing...his mind is not on the job.
Perhaps a stint in the Sandy team might help.
A break at the 1/2 way mark often helps players in his situation.
As you guys know, I love r/l, they have a couple of breaks during State of Origin, and many players come back refreshed from this break...
Anyway, I hope he will play at his best this week...he's a great player when onsong. We sure need him to play at his best this week, because St. Kilda will be real fired up, after all those closes losses.
Cheers.

well i will tell u this, it is a personal matter that is affecting him, and the reason i know this is because i overheard an official from the club talking about it, he obviously saw that i was nearby and asked me later if i had heard what was said, and i honestly admitted that i had heard. he then asked me if i would mind keeping the exact details to myself, in which i replied that i would.

nah i dont think that would help. dropping a player can sometimes make them fell worse. with david it is a confidence issue and the sandy experiemtn would be risky to say the least.
Well if it is that bad he should not be playing.

update: everything is sorted out (i knew the prob b4 dee did) and neita will be back, bigger and better than ever. i think u guys should just lay off the poor guy and let him play footy, he doesnt need people saying they should get rid of him or he should play down back or forward or in the middle or WHERE EVA he should play. david is a confidence player and once that returns he will fire up and boot a bag.
(but i still dont like him, he aint my fave ;) )

OK allright, I think we all know that Neita is having a bad patch and the fact that he is the CAPTAIN having a bad patch doesn't help the issue anymore. Of course he is going to come under greater scrutiny because of that 'captain' issue. Personally I belive that it's not going to help dropping him back to play a game in Sandy, when, if supposedly it is personal problems that are affecting his game. All footballers are professional and learn to cope with outside influences affecting their game. I think we should get off his back and let him play football, whether it be up forward or down back.
On anothernote, we criticise Neitz for playing not so well for the last couple of weeks, but has anyone noticed, as much as I think the guy is a legend who can turn games at a drop of a hat, but Brad Green hasn't done too much over the past couple of weeks either. Now I don't want this to start a whole new thread, but I'm just stating the point that it's not only Neitz that is going through a rough patch at the moment. There are plently others too!

I'll tell you why, you people think you have the job of butting into all the players lives and telling everyone what you know. Yous "think" you are the Connoisseurs of the melbourne football club and everything that goes on off the field with the players is somehow your business.

and what if in fact we do know something about their personal life but we choose not to express it openly, but rather to make note of it as we know there are planty of idiots on these boards (yeah i am talking about YOU!) who will make a whole big deal out of it.
why on earth would we make up stuff that will make our players look bad??? now you should be the one going out and looking for some sort of life which you obviously lost along the way as you are just coming on here blaming us for intruding in the player's personal life when really all we are doing is discussing the state of our captain!
demon:
i love both Neitz and Green and i agree that both haven't had a great year.
Green was pretty good against Essendon but i have noticed he has been missing a few shots for goal despite him being the second most accurate in the leauge!
in any case i think that both Neitz and Green will have a bigger impact on our games soon enough and i also think that while we have had a few big names quiet down we have also had a few unknown players come out of the wood work and really impress (Whelan, Wheatly, Ward etc.....) and some players who despite being abbused are still going on their marry ways of being in one word... ********!!! (hmmm... i wont mention any names but there is one or two which are popping up into my head right at this very moment)
GO DEES! :)

ok well that is all folks. i have had enough of this and im going to close the thread. what started out as a topic discussed by many melbourne supporters around the country has ended in a slagging match, and quite frankly i dont want our board ending up that way alright.
u got anyproblems about it, email and ill explain further.
Cheers
