Great Test series. Now pick your best team. This wasnt as easy as I first thought.

Hayden
Jayasuria
Samaraweera
Martyn
Lehmann
Dilshan
Gilchrist
Vaas
Warne
Kaspa
Murali

12th: Gillespie

Found it difficult to place the 6th batsman... could have gone to a few.

Yeah i would say that i would pick the same players.
Not a huge number of standouts on the Sri Lanka side.

Replace Gilchrist with Sangakkara.

They had a similar time of it with the bat, although Gilly will be slightly up bcause of his century.

But the glovework of Kumar is brilliant and that alone earns him a spot in the team of the series.

I thought his glovework was appalling at times.

He let plenty of byes go through and dropped a couple of sitters

Gilly easy.

Agreed. He was sloppy, Gilly for me too.

Definately go with Gilly

Gilly averaged 40
Sangakarra averaged 18

To be fair, Sangarkarra had to bat 3/4 in the entire series after some long days behind the stumps. I would have Sangarkarra at 3, (without gloves, he has made a double century batting there) and Gilly with gloves at 7. I also think Katich at 6. A sad indicment I know but he deserves it more on the strength of one Innings (at a critical time) than anyone else.

Hayden
Jayasuriya
Sangarkarra (Ponting if you want a captain for the side, otherwise Jayasuriya captain with Gilly V/C)
Martyn
Lehmann
Katich
Gilchrist (wk)
Vass
Warne
Kaspa
Murali

12th Symonds (you need a gun fielder as 12th Man ;) )
