This saturday at Glenelg Oval Glenelg V South.
We have nothing to lose, so what will you do if the mighty bays come away with the victory ? I know what I will do ! Are you a bit nervous ? I would be if I was in your shoes.

Yeah, you certainly have nothing to lose - the 2001 season already HAS been effectively lost for Glenelg.
What will I do if we lose? I'll get into the car and go home... and basically get over it.
Why should I be nervous? We're playing the second bottom side, who have only won 1 game for the year.
As we have said time and time again - if you're not going to post anything worthwhile, would you just piss off? I'd prefer it if you didn't come on here and put up topics with my username in, thanks. I don't like my name being associated in any way with yours.

Firstly we have won 2 games. Secondly, you say the season has been effectively lost for glenelg. South have only won 1 more game than us, so that means it has been effectively lost for south too. After you won at noarlunga you came on here carrying on hypocritically so I trust you will handle it in the scenario that there is an upset on Saturday and Glenelg win ? Not the reserves (which is an automatic win when you play souths) but in the league which is the vital one.

This dude has been back on these boards for about 4-5 days since bigfooty has had it's makeover. And already, he is causing trouble.
I hope your side does some serious damage to his side. After this happens, we will see how long he stays away from the thread that he was more than willing to start.

Seeing as Glenelg will be without their best playmaker all year in Kane Cornes, i think they will struggle yet again to be competitive.

No, Easty doesn't go to games remember. He refuses to travel ALL the way out to Unley, so I strongly doubt whether he'll travel the marathon out to Glenelg which is basically the same distance.

I have been thinking all week that Glenelg will be half a chance on Saturday. Ignoring percentage, the only difference between the two teams is the result at Noarlunga earlier this year. This time around the Bays have home advantage, plus South is stretching it's list with injuries. I was considering having a wager with Mr. Thornton, provided I could get decent odds (longer than evens).
But losing Cornesey will be a huge negative factor. He has been one of the most solid contributors, and certainly one of the few to consistently put in a 4 quarter effort. It's hard to be resentful to the Smears - if they hadn't drafted Cornesey then he'd be propping up one of the loser Victorian clubs' reserves side, so I am grateful that the Bays have him at all - but still it hurts when he is spirited away to warm the Smears' bench when he could help the Tigers get a win.
I haven't seen the team lists yet - did South get Brogan back? I guess it works both ways.
As for struggling to be competitive, well... in only one match this year have the Bays been comprehensively outplayed in all 4 quarters: versus Central District. In every other match (including the 2 wins) the Tigers have had a crack for a half, maybe three quarters, but not the whole match. Granted, the skill level hasn't been quite there, but the endeavour has. From where I sit, the Tigers' biggest problem is not one of ability but of application; they have to learn to exercise their endeavour for 4 quarters. When the opposition lifts a notch, the Tigers drop their heads. If the opposition gets a run on, the Tigers lose the will to play. They have been soft. It's as much a mental thing as anything. A little bit of confidence goes a long way - it would do them the world of good to notch up a few more wins.
Tomorrow gives them a chance to get some of that confidence. Likewise South must be eyeing this as a confidence builder; a chance to get another away win and threaten Westies in the 5. Let's hope it's a good contest, regardless of the victor.
