at lunch on day 1, Pakistan are 3/86.

My Live Scorecard isn't working, it says 0/1 of 1.1 overs (and we're at lunch), and i'm realying on the report to get scores.

Is anyone else having problems with the Live Scorecard.

Pakistan all out for 403

England in reply are 134/2

Thorpe 62*
Vaugnh 53*

Both sides are scoring at a cracking pace-the pitch is really very un English especially for Old Trafford, the ball is coming through quickly & the outfield is quick. So if England were to bat well (& I'm taking nothing for granted) 403 for Pakistan might not be enough to be sure of not losing the Test.

We collapsed to 357 all out they made 323 to leave us a target of 370 to win which would be the 3rd or 4th highest in test cricket.
We were 0/82 at stumps on the 4th day off 22 overs so it looked as if we were going for it but on the 5th day they started with Saqulain Mushtaq & fairly negative field placings so it looks like they're going for the draw which I don't understand as it's a 2 match series they're 1-0 down & it's the first series to count in the new world championship.

At the moment it's half way between lunch & tea we're 2/175 with Trescothick 100* & Thorpe 1* so we need 195 off 40 overs but the current RR is dire so I'm not that confident. If those idiots opened up the field a bit & got Saqulain to throw a few up in the air rather than bowling into the rough outside leg stump they might have a chance of winning.I hope we can keep the scoreboard ticking over, not lose any wickets & reach a point where we can go for a slog like in 1 day game but without too much risk of losing.

In hindsight my comments above look rather misplaced, the collapse has reared it's ugly head again into English cricket. In the 1st innings we went from 2/270 to 357 all out & in the 2nd we went from 0/157 to 200 odd all out.
But without wishing to sound like a whinging Pom there were some SHOCKING decisions-in the 2nd innings we were going along fine all 10 wickets left then Waqar is blatantly caught on TV digging his thumb into the ball & goughing it, the umpires do bugger all & he starts reverse swinging it miles. He takes a couple of wickets & then the collapse starts the feielders round the bat for Saqulain start running accross the pitch at every opportunity roughing it up & however many times the umpire warns them they still keep doing it BUT the biggest injustice was that 4 of our last 5 wickets were given out off of no-balls they showed the photos in all the papers next day & Saqulain got 3 off of blatant no-balls but Wasim got one off of a no-ball that was so far over hte line that you could have fitted Warnie's arse in the gap between Wasim's heel & the line. This was made worse by the news that the match referee had warned the umpires on the last day that they were missing loads of no-balls but this had no effect. To rub it in in the 1st innings Inzimam was caught off a no-ball from Cork, the no-ball was called & Inzimam went onto make a ton when if he'd gone the Pakis would have been struggling.

If all this sounds like sour grapes then you'd be right I'm a bad loser especially where Pakistan are concerned & I refuse to give them any credit for good play whatsoever.Still its the 1 day series now & I don't epect us to win a game we're hopeless at it & it's actually an embarrasment to watch us play it so expect the final to be between Australia & Pakistan.
Although Australia lost to Middlesex the other day & Ben Hutton top scored for Middlesex with 70 odd & if this name sounds familiar well it because the dude is the grandson of Sir Len Hutton, scorer of a world recored 364 against Australia in the 30's-so watch out Aussies! & guess what Middlesex have also got Dennis Compton's(one of the greatest batsmen ever) grandson on their staff. So if these 2 have inherited the family genes things could be looking up for us.(hooray!)
