All late 1980's.
Sooty! Sooty rocked baby.
Ah the English tails of Sooty, Sweep (?) and Sue.
Thomas the Tank Engine.
Loved it to death!
Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles.
I think everyone loved them. And that is not an exaggeration.
Inspector Gadget.
Also the disney cartoon ones:
Gummi bears
Ducktales
Chip and dale
I wish they had made new episodes of gummi bears. I ended up watching the same 15 episodes 10 times over. I even tried making my own Gummi berry juice. It didn't work.:(
For me: Ba ba and gumby, captain planet lol.
The earliest ones I can remember are:
Voltron
Thundercats
He-Man (he had the power)
AstroBoy (gave me nightmares)
Thomas The Tank Engine (had all the books. "Dinna fasch yourself Thomas, we'll soon have you back on the rails! 10 bucks to anyone who can remember that line)
And there was this other one about a little girl who was a viking. Can't remember the name. Any help would be appreciated.

I remember that - it was Canadian and quite good. Sort of like a kids version of Laugh In.
I really liked Wayne & Schuster - another Canadian show, but can't recall whether it was aimed at kids or adults.
Really early kids shows I liked included:
Batfink (in B&W - first show I ever saw in colour)
Spiderman
Scooby Doo
Josie & the Pussycats
The Whacky Races
Phantoma
Prince Planet
Kimba
Gigantor
Marine Boy
Banana Splits
The Jetsons
Looney Tunes
The Cattanooga Cats
I watched a lot of cartoons when I was little!! :)
This may bring back some memories of cartoons...

Ok...let's see
From the good old ABC afternoon line ups of days gone by:
Voltron - the version with five lions
Voltron - the version with numerous small spacecraft
Astroboy
Battle of the Planets - with G-Force
You Can't Do That on Television - with Moose and the gang, slime and water.
Degrassi Jr High - not quite a kids show, but shown during the afternoon, with Jooooey, and Wheeelz, and Spoyke, and Caaaaitlin eh?
Gumby - Gumby was a cool punk rocker!
Inspector Gadget - Don "Agent 86" Adams as a cartoon character
From Channel Ten
The Early Bird Show - with Marty Monster
Transformers - used to miss this sometimes because of church as a kid :(
Machine Men - Dodgey Transformers wannabe!
M.A.S.K. - Crusaders, working all the time, fighting crime...FIGHTING CRIME. Secret raiders, who would neutralize, soon as they arrive...
From Channel 7
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Masters of the Universe
Sheila - the female version of Masters of the Universe
The Smurfs - with the evil Gargamel
Agros Cartoon Connection - with the gorgeous Blakeney Twins :D
From Nine

:D:D:D
Bangers & Mash- that show ruled:D I can't believe they took it off..
That Ragdoll show.. with the back to front doll
The show about the 3 chipmunks.. that show had cool music.
Rugrats..
And there was another show.. had a doll & a bear in it.. and they were like homeless.. and the bear was all posho & grumpy (He was the good part of the show).
Bring Back Bangers & Mash!
Go Roos
I remember watching the Goodies when I was tiny. I think it was the first series (where they just stay in their house the whole time).
Sesame street. You know that funky pinball animation with the mad funk keyboard over it? That's a single now. The singers (123456789 10 11 12) were the Pointer Sisters.
Seven Cities of Gold. Liked the extra 'educational' bits at the end.
Inspector Gadget. Anyone see the French (or was it Italian) episode? Very bizarre.
Roger Ramjet.
Danger Mouse. (my personal favourite)
Porthos

Only Big Bird ever saw the Snuffleupagus and others wouldn't believe that he was real.

Featuring a young Alanis Morissette for a while too. WHile I haven;'t seen it recently, it has to be better than that tripe that the likes of Hillary Duff and Amanda Bynes are in these days...

I agree on all counts. Top viewing.
Just a couple of comments.
I beleive The Transformers were on during the Early Bird Show at least the original Transformers were. Not this Generation 2 crap or whatever they are calling it now.
M.A.S.K was on at the same time over on Nine's Cartoon Connection.
By the way, it was She-ra, not Shelia.
HEMAN and probably roger ramjet
