I thought that he played really well in last night's match against West Coast.

Hope that he plays well for Essendon this year.

He's got lots of potential, and was an absolute bargain for us at Pick 44 as we expected him to go much lower in the draft.

While most players in their debut are nervous and make errors, he showed real poise and his first quarter of football will be one he never forgets. Still has a way to go, but will hopefully be an integral part of the Essendon midfield in the coming years.

Certainly shown a lot more than any of the other draftees at this point. I'd leave him in the side for now and drop Reynolds and Henneman.

Thak God. Finally a youngter playing for us worth getting excited over.

Is it just me, or havn't we got as many good young players coming through, as comapred to other times in the last 20 years? Dyson was a breath of fresh air last night.

I really should be a paid employee of the essendon recruiting staff. I told everybody on bigfooty about this kid nearly three months before the draft.

Marcuz's great prediction (http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=81454&highlight=Ricky+Dyson+marcuz)

Need some confirmation of a rumour. I hope I heard this incorrectly or the person who told me that was taking the pi$$ out of me but did something happy to this young boy's father during the game?? I'll leave it at that but I was told on sat night that his father had a heart attack. Anyone else heard this?? And I'll be more than happy if someone corrects me and that was false info I got.

Dyson reminded me of Marc Bullen. They are really similar in height/build/the way they play. He was brilliant in the first half. Hopefully he stays in the side.

Was very impressed with Dyson as well and seems to be cool, calm and collected. Has excellent poise and disposal from what I saw.

Also heard it reported by a recruiter from Essendon that Essendon were going to pick up Melbourne's Davey at 44 in the draft but couldnt believe Dyson was available and went for him instead.
A great start.
