Did anyone happen to catch this documentary last night, and what did you think of it?
For anyone who didn't see it, they went through her last movie 'Something's Got To Give' and all the problems she had and stuff and had some good footage of her and they also showed the movie at the end! Well, as much as there was to show.
Was very interesting.

Yes I was half drunk at the time but I caught this doco.
Very interesting - has always (and will always) seemed to be more than meets the eye with Marilyn, but my oh my what a stunning sight she was.
The 30 odd minutes of the movie at the end was a great touch (even though it was all over the place), kind of sad when it just ended with that take (maybe it was just me).

Yeah I really enjoyed seeing it! And I felt sad too when it ended, I guess too because it was Dean Martin as well and he's long gone too. Was bittersweet.

Sadly the narrator of the documentary, James Coburn, died in November 2002, about a year after it was made.
I only stumbled on the doco as well and found it very interesting. From what I saw of the film excerpts I think it was the sort of content that would've benefitted from the more permissive cinema that was able to be made later on in the 1960s. As it was, it was probably appropriate that when the film was actually made, Monroe was replaced by Doris Day.
