OK, it was on free-to-air, but how many ad breaks were there?? They ruined one of the best films ever made, well, best sequel ever made, no wonder their Sunday Nights Are Changing......putting up with **** like that..........
I think there were 8 add breaks in the first hour.......when usually there are 5.

Great movie, but yes ads spoilt it.
I taped the last 1 1/2 hours and it watched last night, and it seemed like I was always hitting the fast forward to get through the ads.
What!? you were watching one of the greatest movies of all time when you could have been watching the logies.  How dare you!

Did I miss something ? Who was the guy who killed Hyman Roth at the airport ? Was he relevant to the plot ????
Anyone know ?

Anyone know ? I thought he was just one of Michael Corleone's henchmen.

Yep, just a disposable soldier.
It's been years since I've seen it, but there seemed to be a fait bit cut out - or maybe it was just due to the ads disjointing it.
I wonder why they didn't show all 3 parts over 3 weeks (yes I know the 3rd one is ordinary, but still ...)

I'm a big fan of the gangster/mafia genre, but this movie just didn't do it for me. Goodfellas sh*ts all over it imo.

It was Rocco, and it was a suicide mission.
There are two versions to parts 1 and 2, and if you've ever sat through almost 7 hours of the special box set they brought out a few years ago, all the early scenes with DeNiro are first, then G1 then G2, with added scenes. Good to watch on a cold, wintry Sunday with a bottle of Drambuie

Love Goodfellas, both good for different reasons. Godfather is more operatic, Goodfellas more of a modern day pop analogy to the crime genre. Both Coppola nd Scorcese are good at bulldozing audience emotions.
