Cupido still way more talented than Lovett Murray, Cupido oozes way more class than LM (not saying LM ain't class because he is)
Would prefer to have both of them in the team, nightmare stuff for oppositions

How about a clone:
A player who can crumb the pack at full pace and slot a ripper, and who can lead and mark outside 50m, go back and clear the cheer squad.
Wouldn't mind one of those!:D :D

Cupido for sure but Lovett Murray has potential to be a very good player. Looking forward to seeing how LM goes over the next few seasons. I'm hoping he can cement a place in the senior team.

LM has shown some glimpses of brilliance here and there, but nothing that would suggest he could be better than Cupido.
Cupido.
They're pretty much the same age, but Lovett-Murray has only managed 3 games so far. One of which was good.
If Lovett-Murray can keep working hard he could develop into a very handy player. A tall and very quick flanker could be quite nice. He needs to find more of the ball basically, when he gets it good things generally happen.
In a lot of the games I've seen he's tended to drop marks when under pressure. That's something he needs to work on, particularly since his leap and overhead marking is supposedly one of his strengths. Thankfully on the weekend he took a mark under a bit of pressure from behind, maybe he's starting to adjust to the senior AFL rigamarole.

from what i've seen of Lovett-Murray he is very good when he has the ball in hand, he backs himself 85% of the time which is sometimes good to see, but ocassionally it would be better if he looked for the smarter option such as a short pass. he also has the tendancy to be a little lazy when he doesn't have the ball, apart from the ocassional player chased down... i don't think its a lack of effort more a lack of awareness, he looks a little lost at times when the opposition has the ball. however, with the ball he is all class and shows a lot of potential if he can work on the less glamourous part of his game, which i'm sure he already is with the coaching staff.

Cupes, by a freaking mile.

Quit the clandestine Cupes bashing!
NLM has had one above average game, against CARLTON!
Cupes > NLM
And lets remember, even though NLM kicked 3 goals he only had a grand total of 6 possessions for the match. Has to get more of the ball.
The quicker we have Cupido back the better!

he has a fair bit of work to do to be even talked of in the same breath as cupes, he needs to work harder without the ball, and get his hands on it more, when he does get it his disposal is usually pretty good, which is encouraging - he has natural talent now he just needs to put in the work at training

without being too hard on the youngster, i think todays effort showed who is better.
However with some fine tuning from sheeds he is going to be exciting to watch in the coming years.

If you think Cupido's undiscipline, then you better have a look at LM's game today. Sheeds better get into his ear and teach him a few basic things when playing footy.
L-M needs to work on his disposal. Too many kicks slew off the boot, without spinning properly.
I think L-M may be the next Lewfatt. I'm still not convinced.
He was ok today. That out on the full was a shocker!

Cupido For now, Lovett Murray trys to be a hero he tried to grab about 5 speccies and didn't take one so he needs to pull his head in

Really?
Even so, the amount of (top level) experience is very different.
Bit worried he'll keep trying to take mark of the century.
one in each pocket ,good combination.Lovett Murray must stop trying to take mark of the year every time the balls kicked to him though

He looks dangerous LM, got a few things to work on but the talent is pretty obvious.

Exactly what I thought. Still at the moment he is proving me worng but only time will tell.
just don't think he will ever do enough.
Cupes is a gun and will be for the next 10 years. Still needs work on his head, but he can win matches - something we need up forward.

Quite possibly. Collingwood had him on the rookie list for 2 years and never considered him for promotion. Never starred at VFL level, certainly not to Aaron Davey levels.

I was quite dissapointed with LM on sunday. He was very undisciplined and basically everythime the ball came towards him he tried to take mark of the year. Gave away 4 free kicks. I think it may be time for a spell in the VFL.
Interesting poll results from 2004....
they play different position...this is the worst thread i have ever seen. they are totally different players as well, NLM tall defender....Cupido lazy forward who can only cut it at the substandard level of football.
Now: Cupido
In a few years: Lovett-Murray.
Provided Essendon hold onto him.
NICE PREDICITON

Umm, the poll was made in April 04 when NLM had just started playing in the seniors. His first few games he mainly come off the bench and played in the forward pocket...
I like how some people have voted for Cupido in the last couple of days. :D
Cupido. Easy. He at least hit targets.

Nathan Lovett Murray doesn't have as much talent but works hard in the backline and gives us some drive across half back. May be undisciplined sometimes but still better than damian
Damian Cupido has talent but is too lazy
shows flashes of talent but is too inconsistant
