Adam Griffith is headed to Western Australia next year, adding to Tasmania's woes. Griffith has joined Denton, and Watson in leaving the Tigers. As well as Saker who has also quit the Tigers coaching staff to return to Victoria.

Disappointing loss for the Tigers, I was quite impressed with him this season.

Surprised that he left as (with Denton's departure) he would've been more likely to hold a spot in the bowling department next season.

But with his tall frame he'll be much better suited to the bouncy WACA pitch - he'll be quite a handful there.

Tasmania have no chance now without Watson.

I think you mean the season before last (02/03) he was absolutely terrible this year.

Nonetheless he will be a loss. Down to Wright, Downtown and Doherty now. I guess Butterworth will take Watson's spot and Tubb/Kremerskothen the other.

Any update on Inness ;)

Damien Wright will have to bowl 40% of every innings next season.

Bit out of the blue this one?

Griffith's a rare breed of Tasmanian cricketer. He was actually born there. :p

I recall he was made 12th man in the four-day games late in the season. With a preferred bowling trio of Wright/Denton/Downton.

My guess is that he was unhappy with that and headed for the one state that's crying out for decent pace bowlers.

Good career move for Griffith, he will be a star out west IMO. This is a concern now for Victoria, surely Inness will be tempted by the prospect of being the number 1 man down there. Well, hopefully common sense prevails and he decides to stay and join in our back to back quest.

Looks like the news of him going to the West was false, because Today he signed a 2 year deal with the Tigers saying "I couldn't imagine playing anywhere else"

Precisely...premature announcement that he is going to WA...because he has officially signed a 2 year deal with Tassie.
