Didnt see his name on the Best list. and more to the point the goal kicking list... any1 know anything?
They're playing him off a half back flank. I think he will be back this week.
From what I heard another week away. He was playing in the backline to.

Obviously a plan to confuse the **** out of the opposition when we line up with Cupido, Mercuri, Rioli and Lucas in the back 6 one day.

or perhaps a plan to teach him defensive skills and accountability, which for all his raw talent is not his forte.

It's Not uncommon for a player returning from a knee injury..... Gets them running straight ahead rather than having to turn around all the time ...which is what forwards generally do a lot more often..
lets be honest damien cupido is the laziest footballer in the AFL fullstop. he is a great talent no doubt about that but i was at the bendigo VS werribee game and he showed no respect to his opponents. his first quarter cupido had 3 possesions whilst his opponent brad murphy had 9(set up 2 goals). sure when bendigo had the ball and cupido could run forward he looked great, but there is no injury or excuses available for cupido he is just playing bad footy!if he bothered to man up and also have some courage he mite be a better player but until he can get the little things right he will be a lost hope! 15 possesions at VFL level for a player of his standard is pathetic, considering his direct opponent for most of the day had 25 possesions! he needs to stop feeling sorry for himself that he is playing in the vfl and start making some progress towards the AFL team, cheers

I cant see how playing him on the backline is ever likley to bring the best results out of him... he is asmall to medium forward and doesnt have an accountable bone in his body... we know that... we want him kiciing goals... that way he doesnt have to be accountable cause the ball goes back to the centre when he kicks it.
Lloyd seemed to think that he and McVeigh would play on Friday night.

Maybe that's why he's playing in the VFL.
It's a lesson.
If you're not accountable enough, you don't get into the side.

Sad but true.
There are many things one could say about Cupido.....but better left unsaid I think ;)

Yeah, I'm concerned that he's become complacent with his game, thinking he'll just walk into the 1s when he's good and ready, without question.
Of course that hasn't happened, and he's probably not happy about it. Sounds like the same thing is going on with Mercuri.

i'm a fan of cupido, he makes mistakes and yes he is undisciplined but he is exciting and can win a game off his own boot, unlike the many robotic clones running around in the AFL.
But having said all that he looked a little chubby against Adelaide or was he wearing Rioli's jumper?:
Cupido is a hot/cold player.
He is only 1 week in.... it will take him at least a couple weeks to get some form. The VFL and AFL are two very different things.

I don't think it was fat I think it was muscle, he may have been doing to many weights while being off his feet in the pre season.

the man is now of massive size
hes been on too much of that bloody kangaroo meat (even tho hes not of the same blood as rioli)
it was terrible to see - last year he had a field day against geelong, this year it looks as though hes going to go via the snack outlets before he runs through the banner
he has lost all his acceleration and now looks more threatening from the maccas drive through
this being said he has only played one game
