What an unexpected thrill watching us live on Friday Night interstate and absolutely dominating from the first bounce ... it was vintage Essendon at it's best last night! I think we can arrest our bad traveller tag this year as I believe we can win our next two on the road, West Coast @ Subiaco in Round 16 on a Friday Night & Sydney @ Telstra in Round 21 on a Saturday Night.
Another tough night to give out votes, but three players were always first 'in there' when required and stood out a little bit...

The last few games the bombers have played, even tho they won havent been overly convincing. Tonights game was different tho, you could see the confidence growing :) I had to pinch myself to remember we were actually playing at AAMI..
looking forward to the rest of the year more and more, especially round 18 ;)

Allen, Lucas unlucky to miss out, and I thought Bolton was pretty good too.

One of the more sweeter victories I can remember for a while, very good all round performance by the team, and done with the loss of two of our form players this year early in the piece.

as others have mentioned, very even team effort......impressed with McVeigh's return, very composed out of half back and his delivery was exceptional.
good to see us bang on a bit of percentage at the end there too!, very unlike us. back on the happy side of a hundred finally after 6 straight wins:)

Yeah, McVeigh's field kicking to leading player was exceptional. 2 or 3 times he pin pointed players with only half-a-metre on thier opponents. Cupido also showed glimpses and will be better for the experiance.

Of Murphys 25 disposals only 1 was a clanger. Amazing. He has been quiet an aquisition for us.
I was one of the ones that wasn't entirely optomistic about this trade, I wouldn't say I was going as far as saying he was a dud, but just wondered at his age whether he could string good games together. Allan is in that as well.
So far, so good!

Apologies to JJ who played fantastic, but I thought these three had the most influence on the game (Lucas really lifted in the last quarter when we got challenged).
Murph - two weeks in a row he's our best; I suppose any question about his loyalty to Essendon can be put to rest (hey, that rhymes)
Allan - possibly best game as a Don
MJ - played much better than last week.
McVeigh - welcome back, hasn't missed a beat
Cupido - didn't do a lot but looks like he's finding his way
20 goals on the road is FANTASTIC.
Let's just hope the cost of this victory isn't too high (re: injuries).

Apologies to Lucas & Allan.
And fantastic to see we can do it without Hird.
:cool: Very happy. Any more news about Hird & Rioli?
