View Full Version : Dud Brothers

With Power being dropped again due to lack of form, is he falling into the dud brother syndrome which we seem to always inherit. He has been labled as better than his brother but over the past 2 years he's failed to live up to the tags.
Why is it that the doggies always seem to attract the dud side of the family, just look at our history:
Ben Sexton
Jamie Grant
Simon Atkins brother (can't remember his name)
Andrew and John Taylor (ok they were both duds)
Ben Harrison (he must have a brother that can't play footy any worse)

Just to correct - We went after Jamie Grant, not Chris, so we got the better one.
Adding to that, Jamie had a season with Sydney.
Another one that reverses your theory is Simon Atkins. Paul played a season or two for Sydney whilst Simon had a decent length career. Another tick for us.
I'm also pretty sure Paul was never on our list.
What about Wiggo? ;)
Anyway Sammy would have been better than his replacement today.

Agree we got the better Atkins, think Paul did try out with us but we saw the light early and off loaded him. Also think we went after Jamie Grant first as he was the older and thought it would help getting Chris. We had done this a few years earlier getting Rod MacPherson but really wanting Steve (ok the two MacPhersons worked out ok).
Another big mistake was having Brian and Neil Cordy and thinking that Graeme and Roger had any football ability.:D

How've you been mate?
Bloody hell, I tell you what, you strangely disappeared from this board after your defeats (or should i say thrashings?) to Melbourne, St Kilda, Geelong and Adelaide, like the rest of the Tiger w@nkers who come out of the woodwork and onto our board after a few victories.
Guess we shouldn't really be surprised though, Richmond supporters don't have a reputation for being fickle bandwagoners in full voice when winning and quite as a mouse when losing for nothing now do they? Good to see you doing justice to this reputation.
God I love mouthy Richmond supporters.

Patrick goes alright
Stevie Wonder would go alright with the tiggers at the moment, but that doesn't mean he can play football.
Patrick goes alright
So this thread has been at the bottom of the forum for nearly 6 months and you come in and just add that line? As well as digging up the other thread on this pea heart. He's doind OK over at Richmond we al know that. Do we care? Not at all. He would have struggled to get out of a Werribee jumper at the Bulldogs which doesn't say much for Richmond considering he has been in the starting 22 since day one.

Dunno why this thread suddenly re-appeared, but let's talk Bowden and Rawlings.
I wasn't that happy with either deal at the time, but now I am.
Bowden didn't seem interested in playing for us, and Rawlings is playing in the seconds.
No regrets.

Surely Patrick has a vagina. I think siblings with vaginas are called sisters.

Wheels always wished he had both at his disposal when he coached us. There is also a good story about Paul who after he had left us switched with Simon and attended a team meeting. When Malthouse found out he apparently saw the funny side of it. Last time he was known to laugh.

I think Sam Power can still be a player, he's just a bit like Hahn / Hargrave, in that its hard to find a good matchup for him week in and week out. Hopefully he continues to push for selection though, its always handy to have someone like Sam who can play utility off the bench and do whatever is required for the coach on game day.

I would have thought that Hargrave is such a versatile player as he can play on smalls and talls and therefore easy to find a matchup for him.
At this point, I would liek to remind everyone we also had the Bassett brotehr on our list for a while too.
Jury still out on Power for mine. At some other clubs he would be starting 22.

Power was incredibly unlucky to be dropped this week. Watch the replay and see how many goals he dished out. He had at least 4 goal assists that I can remember.
He's no dud.
Another good game by " Mr Patrick ' we will throw in an extra 50k' Bowden".:D :D :D :thumbsu:

Keep him and pay what you want.
We don't need him.
Start talking when you beat some good sides as well.
