I am absolutley disgusted with the effort put in by this team today, honestly they couldn't kick a goal if the goal sticks were a mile apart and they've put in no effort at all at times today. What the hell is wrong here? when they're on they're hot but when they're off well.

What type of football team is this you ask ...... It is a gutless football team.
But of course you cant say that you will be virtually shouted down

Get rid of the coaches and get a decent coaching panel for a start.
Then let a decent coach work on the players.
Rohde and Co. are a joke.
They have no idea what they are doing. Everything is hit and miss, but mostly miss.
We need a new start and fast!

I agree with both of you, and I've been saying Rhode has to go for the last 12 months

What happened to our forward line today? Sounds like a complete rabble. And horribly inaccurate again.
Given Richo's game last week, I would havd had Plans A, B and C ready, including playing Rawlings on him and blocking up his space.
Rawlings was a disgrace. Dropped an easy chest mark dead in front, the ball went down the other end for a goal to Richmond. The team dropped their bundle after that and Richo went mad.
Everyone's favourite, McGuinness did nothing, Croft can't be fit, Hargrave did nothing.
They were all a rabble except Darcy, West and Grant.

Johnson, Robbins and Murphy played very well IMO.

Hard to do much when you sit on the bench for most of the day.
I have a great idea.
Let's bring back Garlo, he'll save us.

Jade Rawlings didn't give a yelp all day up forward.
Matt Richardson was having a birthday on Bassett, Croft, Harrison
and Hargrave.
Rawlings started as a tall defender.
Any chance that Rawlings might be put on Richo????
Good luck at Centrelink on Monday Rhoder.

bowden was good. he was creative and hit targets inside the fifty.
HE'S A FORWARD FLANKER and that's how he should be judged.

A heartless one.
Very spiritless.

The effort was there. We had more contested possessions, more inside 50s and more 1%s.
There was just no spirit and once again, no system.

No shouting from here, it seems that the coaching staff and leadership group have the combined IQ of a Richmond supporter after todays effort. Why is it when we get out on the ground for the warm up all the players have shots from outside 50 then when the game starts they are lucky to make the goal from 20 meters out, any further they try to pass to a pack or just put up a bomb and hope.
On todays effort, Harrison should never pull on a football jumper again (bulldog or Werribee), Guido needs to get rid of the white boots and stop living on the memories of the Canberra game and realise that at the moment he is a second rate footballer, Bowden and Hargraves need to wake up, Smith needs an eye and color test to determine whether he knows what colors we do wear as from some of his kickouts you'd think that Richmond players wore red white and blue. The club needs to realise that Croft, although a great player over past years, is below league standard, he's getting too old and slow for the game. Grant has to realise that look away handballs are ok if the player you are passing the ball to are actually looking at you and the ball, if they're not don't do it, and everyone has to realise that in this game teams are allowed to kick the ball more than 20 meters and that you CAN shepard your own player and not just leave him to run on his own.
As for Rohde, there should be only two word between him and the board this week, either I quit or you're fired. To be beaten by Richmond is the ultimate disgrace, and the lable of the worst coach in the competition has now passed from Frawley to Rohde. I could keep going but the only good point about todays effort is that I was able to cancel my tickets to Sydney and accommodation under the 2 week cut off, if we play that badly against a team that will finish in the bottom 4, what will we do against the AFL sponsored swans.
Bring on Helen Keller or Stevie Wonder as coach, they can't do any worse

I wish I could say that you're being harsh. Unfortunately, you are accurate. If one was to analyse the stats, we had nearly more in all the departments except the one that counted....the goals. This would suggest that the game plan was effective, except that the players responsible for kicking goals weren't pulling their weight. I feel absolutely gutted by today's performance and am extremely dissappointed because I know that the football world will believe that Judas was justified for leaving our club.
I am afraid that a defeatist culture has engulfed our club and it is left to the leader of the organisation to begin to implement some type of change before it becomes too late. The only real remedy is to instill some genuine fear into the players by making some real changes. We need to show this group of players that if they are not able to succeed in their purpose, they get thrown back to the 2nds to regather their thoughts and perhaps refine their skills to an AFL standard. What we saw today from our beloved Doggies would not be deemed acceptable by any other club. Unfortunately, it has now happened to us a second time this year and seems that after all the dust settles and all the words have been spoken the message does not seem to be getting through.
It is absolutely shameful that we as supporters and members must always somehow justify losses by refering to times in the game that "if " something was done we would have won. Eg: "We should have won IF we kicked straight."
At last year's B&F night Smorgo said that we will attract the players that Rhode needs to get us back into the winning circle and we will improve immensely. We took great comfort from our recruitment process but alas we are probably not that much better than last year. As was evident today, with the exeptance of Westy and Johnno we do not have the same veracity and intensity from our playing group than many of the other teams.
We will not finish higher than perhaps 12th, (maybe at best 10th) this year and although this may be acceptable to many people out there, let's cast our minds across to Melbourne who with the exeptance of Ben Holland and the young Davey have been able to put together a combined effort and perform succesfully both on and off the field. I can't remember the last time when the Demons had a membership level well into the 20 000's but good luck to them as they fully deserve it.
Many supporters out there have their freedoms of opinion and may consider this an unconstructive piece of criticism, but all you fellow members who bleed when their beloved Doggies lose, will recognise this as an avenue of release of the bitter disappontment and frustration we are subjected to by the lack of respect our players are showing to our club and our hurting supporters.

Quite a few points (but in point form)
- Harrison was tagging Stafford all day except at the rucking and I only saw or heard Staffords name being called twice during the day as in times where he got clear
- Croft and Rawlings are the same sort of player, if they can't mark it they are easily manuvered off the ball and out of the play
- As bogesta would realise we are the new Tottenhame Hotspur of the AFL, where the talk of the club is nowhere near the rudderless walk of the players
- Thank the coach for finally deciding to put Croft on Richo when he got up to goal number nine. Thank you for embaressing him in what is his likely last game for us, further aided by the p-weak pass of smith that gave Richo the 10th.
- Thw word 'IF' is so applicable to the way our players and board think, leaving it up to pure chance instead of contructing methods to make the luck more possible, and channeling it right
- Muff, if you are just coming back from weribee, and under dubious form, don't spend time looking down at the grass and kicking it with your boots like some shy school girl mere seconds after you get on. The number of people I heard describe that situation that were in the AFL members show that you can't hide.
What are you trying to do? Be another trent Croad?
I guess there are some similarities there if thats your very first action coming onto the footy field!!!

At three quarter time, I thought we would win. The game was lost from the time that Rawlings dropped the chest mark and West slipped accepting the handpass. Richmond raced away with the ball and goaled. From that passage of play on, Richmond gathered more momentum than it had all day and put the game beyond doubt with confident and aggressive running whilst the skill levels, run and intensity of our players dropped and they showed no confidence in their approach to the ball.
The game was there for the taking despite the rampant Richardson and our poor conversion in the first three quarters. There must be an explanation for the chronic poor conversion. The more worrying problem is the drop off in skill levels and intensity in the last 15 minutes.
