View Full Version : Time to give Rodney Eade a call this week

I have an uneasy feeling that a well drilled Pagan side coming off a respectable showing v Lions will really sort us out next weekend.
Surely this week Smorgo should call Eade, get all it sorted so that he takes over immediately after Carlton belts us and we get both the dumped coach effect and Eade coaching against his old side?

Respectable showing? What game are you watching? Last time I looked at Carlton and Brissy, Carlton were getting spanked good and proper.

Spotted a score in the late 4th with Carlton pulling to within 4 goals - perhaps they lost the plot after that.
Either way, this thread is about getting Eade NOW!
Can we get Libba on the coaching team too? We need some hard nut grunt brought into our guys. Too many times I see guys not willing to get in and under or really lay the hard tackles.

Too late, we missed our chance.
How long have Carlton got him stitched up for then?

I don't know but I think he would stay there for another couple of years at least.

Not convinced about Eade. As to my earlier thread I still prefer 199/299. His heart is still with us, remember he barracked for Footscray as a boy growing up in Bairnsdale. Did well at Melbourne there as an Assistant coach not to mention our Scooby Doos.
My other choice would be David Parkin. He has only been out of the game for 3 years has coached four premierships sides(Rhode has coached six wins). Parkin is extremely well organised, and is a DISCIPLINARIAN. That is what the club needs, a bloke with a proven record who will provide guidance for the younger blokes and take no garbage from the senior players who treat Rohde as a joke. He wouldn't tolerate the 10.24's or 7.22's which is synnonomous with these players not giving a rats rectum. How can you kick those scores twice in three weeks. It is if they couldn't give a stuff.

The problem with 199/299 is that if he comes then some of the players will walk like they threatened last time (actually..Is that a problem ??  )
Oh well, maybe he will get them to become strong people as opposed to babies being tucked in with their curfews?

Yes some of the players did not want 199/299 as our coach for the start of the 2003 season. The players have gotten rid of the two Terry W's and Alan Joyce, but what have they given us in return?
It seems that they wanted Peter Rohde(our mastermind as that Cheer Squad placard informs the world) and well where are we now?
We need a disiplinarian be it 199/299, Parkin or well maybe Eade. Perhaps we may be better off with another ex-coach, M&M if Collingwood flick him. He would like it better here now would M&M, with the Cricket Club now based at the Mervyn G. Hughes Oval. He could barrack for them now.
