And as for McCarthy, it was one goal from plenty of chances and unfortunately for Macca, he wont succeed at AFL level until he learns how to kick properly. Some of the shots he missed today were woeful.

You sound surprised ScouseCat
Good to see Foster do something right for a change. He's had a rough old time, he's got guts but his decision making has been woeful at best.

Disappointed more then anything GeeCat, because I know McCarthy has worked on his kicking, yet it's still terrible. He can get the ball ok, but unless he can finish, he'll always be a liability in the senior team.
On a positive note, Enright got through his first game back from injury and should come back this week, while Steve Johnson and Bartel also played good games.

3 things to say after an impressive win.
Why is Byrne captain? he's usless.
And why did Buckland sit on the bench for the whole first half???? he came on and played really well. They had jimmy allan spewing his guts out in the warm ups but left him on the ground.
which rookies will we sign next year? will any of em be upgraded? will any be drafted if we dont sign em?

I saw the majority of the game. I agree that McCarthy's kicking woeful but he took some fantastic grabs! Why cant we draft a kid who is the complete package? Thought it was a decent performance considering when id rocked up we were 0.9.9 to their 5.2.32

James Byrne is a fantastic leader out on the ground and is far from useless. Dunno where you're getting your info from.
Hopefully, and logic suggests that we upgrade Shannon Byrnes to the senior list. Jimmy Allan, if he keeps up some good form, should be close to it at the end of 2005

Byrne was very good against Frankston the week before and gives some much needed leadership to an extremely young group!
S. Byrnes definately should be promoted. I dont know about Allen, havent been impressed personally. Skills have been ordinary from what ive seen, and lacks pace however after a knee reco he needs a lot more time before we can see the real Jimmy Allen

and Loats and possibly Smith and Lonergan.

Allen can be retained on the Rookie list next year,so it doesn't matter if he's not promoted.
Byrnes should've been promoted last year.
James Byrne has been a good pick up for the VFL side.Maybe he had a off day yesterday, but he's been good in most other games.

Does anyone know how many(approx.) possesions spriggzy got on the weekend i am dying for him to come back into the senior side he didn't do much when he had his chance in the AFL but i think he should get another chance to prove himself. I know he is out of contract at the end of the season and i am hoping he has a chance to prove himself and i hope they will sign him up for another couple of years. In a few years i think he will turn into a great footballer so please give him a shot!
