View Full Version : Cats VFL Fixture?
For all those that live in Geelong or make it to VFL matches would it be better if all Geelong VFL home games could be curtain raisers at KP before an AFL match?
It wouldn't be fair for opposition supporters.Nth Ballarat or Frankston supporters wouldn't want to pay $15 [or whatever it is] to see their team play.

I think it is best suited the way it is now. Only when there is a distinct correlation between the two teams playing should they be played as a curtain raiser, eg: today.
As Jub said, Frankston and North Ballarat supporters shouldn’t have to be forced to pay double the amount to see their team play, and furthermore, be given lesser seats to watch the match from.
Say for example last week, if Geelong played an AFL home match, there shouldn’t be a VFL curtain raiser.

Whats the use of having VFL as AFL pre games that finish over an hour before the start of the game. You might as well not have them at all.

It’s merely to do with the fact that the AFL teams need to properly prepare without the distraction of the reserves coming in. These days they come out a good thirty minutes prior to the opening bounce to acclimatise and adjust to the conditions, and if the VFL match is a high scoring affair this could disrupt routines and the schedule of play for the day.
