According to today's Age, Nick Riewoldt is on target to play his first game of football for Springvale after the split round.

Reading the article, you get the impression that he has been doing it tough. From seeing his fellow draft pick, housemate and good friend fitting right into the demands of league football to the doubts of overcoming the knee injury that is actually his first injury in his entire career, it has been a hard time for him.

He has trained well all week and was especially glad to get through Wednesday's hard training session, particularly on a boggy Moorabbin surface.

I don't think there is any need whatsoever to rush the kid into the team when he is fit. He hasn't played a game of footy since the QAFL Grand Final last year and I hope the club giving a lot of time to adjust to the pace and skill of the game.

There will be a time where the likes of Riewoldt, Koschitzke, Hayes, Beetham, Moyle, Milne, Baker, Begley and the other youngsters lead our team to become a league power. :D

The club has treated Nick with a lot of caution & already have given him plenty of time to get 100% which is great to see. They haven't put any pressure on him at all, and like you say we'll probably see him within 2 weeks playing a game of footy.

It'd be nice to see Riewoldt, Lawrence & Cripps named in the seniors in the same week :)

See ya at the footy club Sainter tonight! It should be good.:)

Yeah read the article and it's good to see Riewoldt is finally on the way... just take it nice and slowly because the last thing we want is him becoming injured again.. that would really kill his confidence...

The Second Half of the Season will be a lot better... You can count on that... Ya know what would be really great.. If Riewoldt won the Rising Star Award for the rest of the year... :)

Riewoldt could still be eligible next year for the Norwich rising star at this rate!

Go Nick!
