Hey all,

I am still in the midst of collecting club songs from clubs all around Australia both past and present.

For example, remember when Adelaide had "here we go, here we go"? Does anyone know where I'd find that?

Anyone out there around the country that knows a club with an audio copy of their club song, or knows a site or or something, please get in touch.

My Current ones Include:
All Current AFL

SANFL
Central "This Time" and the current version
Glenelg "A Tiger For Me" and current
North - all versions
Norwood - all versions except this year's new one
Port - one and only
South - current and last one before it
Sturt - both versions but a better version of the current one would be good
West - The old one, would love the new one
Eagles - one and only but would love West Torrens and Woodville old versions

ACT AFL
Gunghalin

Diamond Valley FL
Panton Hill

Tasmania
North Hobart

VAFA
Kew

WAFL
East Fremantle, East Perth and South Fremantle

Also Bacchus Marsh.
That's what I have, any others please get in touch.

Cheers.

Steve

I have all of the old TANFL clubsongs from 1972.
These are:

Hobart: "Hobart Forever Boys" (Tune: Anchors Aweigh)
Nth Hobart: "Its a Grand Old Flag" (Tune: You're a Grand Old Flag)
Glenorchy: " We're Glenorchy Club, The Magpies (Tune: Yankee Doodle Dandee)
Clarence: "Clarence Are The Team To Watch" (Tune: Glory, Glory, Halleluja)
New Norfolk: "There's A Team On The Track" (Tune: Road To Gundagai)
Sandy Bay: "Seagulls, Seagulls That's Our Name" (Tune: California Here We Come)

Also have the original Adelaide Crows "We're the Pride of South Australia, We're the Mighty Camry Crows":o
Have got "Dare To Beat The Bear" Brisbane's first one - The worst song ever.
An early Footscray song, in which the words are vastly different to the one used now - still has "Sons of The Sea" tune.
Original Roys song - although a little worn.

A quick check of the WAFL sites shows Claremont has theirs on line.

Their song is Tigerland, but I've no idea if they use the same recording as Richmond or not.

I got the old Fitzroy one aswell, found it on Kazaa, if you looked there you could find some AFL songs.

Some of them aren't on there, that I could find.

Just as a matter of interest Port had a different song at least up until 1976. They listed the lyrics in the 76 grand final budget.

You can find the Perth football club song here:

http://www.perthdemons.com.au/download/download.htm

In Mp3 format (2Mb), very poor quality as it was salvaged from the only known copy; a background tape used for phone messages. If anyone should have higher quality a copy of the song (even on lp record) please contact the club....

Not sure if you can download it but the Subiaco website plays the Subiaco club song when you go to the homepage.

casette tapes? gees....if anyone is still interested, i could tell you how to get the song from tape onto computer without losing any quality.

btw does anyone have a listing of all the tunes used for the AFL themes?

eg. Carlton "lily of laguna"
St kilda "When the saints go marching in"
etc

edit: btw, just realised that i was in the Regional League forum; i did a search on the topic of club songs and found this post....so the last bit about AFL songs porbably doesnt belong here.

Instead of Yellow and Black, they have 'THE OLD GOLD AND BLUE'

Thanks all for your help.

I am still looking for your help on a few in SANFL first off and also AFL.

SANFL
Centrals - Anything before "This Time" and back
Port Adelaide - anything before "Cheer Cheer"
South Adelaide - Anything apart from the current one and "cheer the might panther roar, shout til the rafters ring, the mighty blue and whites forever, let each and everyone here sing"
Sturt - The 1990 version they had which is like Carlton's
Old West Torrens and Woodville versions

AFL
Adelaide - "Here we go, Here we go" and the Pride of version played in 1997 (it was a long version with the 1st verse being sung twice)

Cheers all.

I guess they changed their theme after that GF?? They never used the same change rooms?? Is that correct?

Eagles - one and only but would love West Torrens and Woodville old versions

Steve

Woodville (to the tune of Yankie Doodle)

We're the Warriors from Woodville
The mighty Warriors we are
Australias colours mighty Green and Gold
****( Cant remember next line ) ******
The premiership is what we aim for
Determination will be there
Lets hear a cheer for its our year
As one we shall achieve it
For we are the mighty Warriors

(Ah the good old days, well 1986 anyway !!!)

West Torrens I believe is the same song as now (obviously a little different with the "Gold and Green and Blue" reference)

Hey all,

VAFA
Kew

Cheers.

Steve

I played last season for the Kew Comets and I think the colts use our song as well.

Based on the Hawthorn song.

We're a mighty team at Kew Boys,
We're the mighty fighting browns!
We love our Club, and we play to win,
Riding the bumps with a grin (at Kew Boys).
Come what may, you'll find us striving
Team work is the thing that talks,
One for all and all for one
Is the way we play at Kew Boys!
We are the Mighty Fighting Browns.

Hope it helps mate :)

Burnie also use the Hawthorn Club Song, but these days they have changed "Hawks" to "Dockers" and "Hawthorn" to "Burnie"
