I'd bring in Pettifer and give him a task ... a real task to do.
I'd tell him he's going to be playing on the best young midfielder in the competition (Judd), and that this player will provide him with a benchmark for his own standing in the game.
He should be given ample opportunity to be competitive in this contest, and establish some sort of niche for himself.
Like the ultimatum Essendon gave Mark McVeigh 3 or 4 years back when he was a great "seconds" player.
Otherwise, he should be, and probably will be, offloaded come season's end.
