Why the hell did Hawthorn re pick up Trent Croad? I don't rate him and thought it was a good idea trading him to Freo in the first place

Other then Hay we don't have another quality key position backman, while croad may not be the best quality backman he is at least better sized then the flankers that we play back their

i was happy that we re-signed croad..he has been a hawk supporter since childhood and i think he will play his best football at glenferrie...i dont think he has matured yet,still looks and acts like a boy...needs to give up the bloody modeling work and needs to become a much, much more physical player...i would like to see him develop into another langford...

Anyone who actually watched any footy this year would know that while Trent hasn't set the world on fire, he's been more than servicable. Keeping his role simple helps. Ignorant people make ignorant statements.

As long as it is controlled agression that he displays out on the field. Not getting frustrated when a player is going well on him and clocking them in the schnozz. Needs to make sure he is physical where it counts, and not go giving away silly free kicks as he has a tendency to do.

I am rapt with his performance thus far though. He is playing really well.

Croady kicked a few important goals for us against the swans and got us back in the game... he should be a CHF, at least he presents himself and is capable of taking marks, unlike Nathan Thompson and Nick "the has been" Holland!

The way the HFC treated Croad when they traded him to Fremantle was nothing short of appaulling. There were issues there i am sure that we will never know about and of course they needed to trade him to get the high draft pick but it could of been done in a more professional manner.

I will be the first to admitt that he doesn't have a football brain but he is a extremely fit athlete who is currently playing for the club. His passion for the HFC shows everytime he runs onto the field and we have a number of players on the list that could take a leaf out of his book and play for the club not for the money.

I was over the moon when we got him back and was looking forward to watching him play again for the brown and gold.
HE is not a KPP and Trent plays his best football from the back end of the ground. His style of game is to run off players and kick a long bomb this does not work in the forward line so best he play down back. Trents last year at the club was a disaster he was played back and forth for the whole season, leave him down back and I have no doubt he will deliver.

like i said, i would like to see him develop into a player like chris langford...croad has the physique to do it,he just needs to transform into the rockman...( more gym work )
langford was a very tough defender,very physical and rarely got pinged by the umps..actually i dont know his tribunal history but i'm pretty sure he was hardly ever reported...
our backline should be moulding themselves on the greats we had down there in the eighties...

And I might transform into Jesus of Nazareth. Langford, Ayres and Mew are all time greats of the club. If any of the three current day players could become half the peformers these three were I'd be amazed and delighted.

yes they are legends of the club,3 of the best backmen to play the game...proof is in the trophy cabnet at glenferrie..
the hawks were very successfull, this is why the players we get now should be moulded into the same form...schwab should know first hand what it takes,he was around...
