Pretty poor game at KGV, for most of the game Brighton had only scored 1.4 (scored first goal in the 2nd) Sean Salter played some time in the centre yesterday, I think what Klug is trying to do is see if he can move Salter away from the forward line if he is having a bad game there.
He's good a decent boot on him, played well there, from what I saw, Dean Millhouse had a good one, Brodie Moles was okay aswell. Nathan Henley wasn't as good as he has been this season. I think Glenorchy only did enough out there to win, they didn't play to belt Brighton by a big margin.
In the reserves Ben Reid played well, kicking 5 goals in the 3rd Quarter. I'm not sure what he ended up with, someone said he had kicked 11 goals, I can't be sure if he did. The game was a masacre, it was like Glenorchy were playing the wittches hats, the umpire did his best to help Brighton score, they got some soft frees during the game.
Final Score
Glenorchy 34-16-220
Brighton 5-4-34
The colts won by 20 goals, well so Bob Beakley told us when we got to the game during the first quarter of the reserves.

Hey ppl.
As an EX Tasmanian living in victoria for the last 12 years, it's nice to get scores from the old tasmanian leauge, sad to see the T.F.L collapse, thanks to Barry Breen for that.

Glad you like the updates:)
You can also add the likes of Hampson, Wade, Hodgman, Morrison and Kent (The REAL killer of Tasmanian Football in my book) to the list.
Scarecrow, how was the rollup at KGV on Saturday?.
I had to work the entire weekend (again:rolleyes: ) and never got to see the football. I went past North Hobart Oval on my way home early in the last quarter, and there was an abysmal crowd at that game, a couple of hundred or so.
Kingborough was leading 59-36 at the time.
My aunty went to the match up at Boyer and said that it was a similar story up there. Very, very few Hobart supporters, and surprisingly not many New Norfolk people either.
Hobart (although not belted in any of the three matches up there) never even looked like winning apparently. Hobart will be hoping that North continues to have a poor year, as they will miss the five otherwise.
Just looking at the NTFL scores, it seems as though that league is getting like the old 16-team SFL from 2001. A series of one-sided mismatches, a yawning gulf between the good and bad sides etc.
It wasn't too long ago that, the NTFL was one of the most even and competitive leagues in the State. Now that too it seems, is becoming a "Have's and Have-Not's league"
I wonder just how long local football has got left, if all these changes in the South can't produce decent crowds, the North continues to garner one sided results, it's a huge worry.
Intersesting to note that Kingston, Lauderdale and Clarence are still producing large crowds.
Apparently Lauderdale had its second largest gate for three years, behind the home game Vs Glenorchy this year, bigger gate than Second Semi Final 2002.
I haven't yet been to Boyer but when I do I imagine it will be pretty full.
Sorell, Dodges Ferry and Cygnet all seem to pull big crowds in the regional league also. I think the reason these sides in both leagues garner large crouds is the brand of football they play, and the quality players in the sides.
Clubs need to do more, in my opinion, to attract more ex-AFL/VFL etc players to the club. If you look at the sides mentioned, almost all of them have a player that has played AFL, or VFL quality footy. Perhaps if a draft type system was implemented for the Devils recruits, then larger crowds would be at the games, and hence more money for clubs, which means they can keep their better players and attract more.
Also a bit of media coverage wouldn't go astray.

There would of been between 300-340 people, about 16 Brighton supporters at the game. Pretty poor crowd really, I'm guessing many stayed home because the game was so one sided.
Hopfully this weekend's game between Glenorchy/North Hobart will draw better.

I even brought my flag back from the 1999 Grand Final, hoping to get Swoop (Chris Glenn) to sign it, as he is the only one yet to do so.
The game was very disappointing, the Robins were really fired up in the club rooms, but came out and were dead.
