Should the Bombers change their guernsey for colour clash games?

And please.................no interlopers from other clubs voting thanks!

Start one on your own teams board!

Yes, I've got no problem with it as long as we keep it red and black. It is a bit ridiculous when we come up against Melbourne.

I think the writing is already on the wall and the club will be made to have an alternative strip by this time next year...

Times are changing and I think the Essendon Football Club have to keep up with it, still after 108 years of playing these teams they've decided now that a change of playing strip is appropriate to avoid a clash... I guess we just have to move with the AFL times.

do not care either way, who really cares what the hell they are wearing, its all a bit pretentious for mine.
so yeah no problem with it. I honestly don't think Essendon do either.....all they are doing is taking a stance on behalf of their own regulations about the jumper....if the AFL enforce it on them...then of course they will say ok, its out of our hands.

agree on the clash with melbournes jumper....its bloody terrible.

No problem with it whatsoever. Just make the design worthy and I'll be in heaven.

I don't really notice the clashes, but some people obviously find it a problem. So as long as it remains red and black and stays simple, I have no problem with an alternate strip.

We should not have an alternative strip. It's money-grubbing bull****, IMO.

That said, it IS going to happen, and we will lose if we try to fight it.

Id have to agree with both Rednugget and Runknisse comments.
I would like to see a variety of designs on offer from the club or some sort of design competition for the club members and then the best one voted in by the members.
However I think this new design should only be used against Melbourne and the Tigers and maybe cartlon and the Magpies depending on design.

When we are forced to change, yes. We should do it that way.

WTF?
Why Carlton?
Why the Pies? Where the clash?

Maybe the Saints, but even that I don't believe.
Melbourne, yes.
Richmond, yes.
No others.

yeah your right about carlton and magpies in retropect I dont think it would clash at all.
I hope that cartlon and the magpies dont have a second jumper that is darker that their current ones.

The point is it shouldnt contain any red when playing other sides with red.

Red is one of the most easily detected light spectrums so thats where the confusion occurs with Melbourne v Essendon or St Kilda v Essendon. All three basically have red against a darker colour. (yes I know St KIlda has the white in there as well but it only worsens things if Essendon is wearing white shorts)

An Essendon 'clash strip' would only be worn twice a year at most in away games against either St Kilda and Melbourne.

In these games, we should have NO RED in out strip (likewise neither should St Kilda or Melbourne have RED in their strips if they are the away team)

I recommend that our Jumper be as bad and nasty as you can get - ALL BLACK with maybe a Silver Trim around the neck, arms and Socks.

We only Clash with the Tigers if their Yellow sash gets muddy - otherwise the two colours, RED and YELLOW DO NOT CAUSE CONFUSION as they are distinctly different and easily differentiated by the human eye. Why do you think Traffic Lights have an Amber (Yellow) and Red signal? There can be no confusion as to the difference

I've got no problem with an alternative strip. We'd only be wearing it for a couple of times a year.

No. I don't understand. Do a lot of people need their eyes checked?

i can't imagine us wearing anything else, certainly i don't support any changes in colours in any description, and the jumper can stay the same, i suggest just the width of the sash be altered depending on whether the clash is because of the black or the red... wider against melbourne and richmond away so the red is more obvious

yes i'm for the change for some away games
espec against dees, saints, tiges
possibly against crows, blues as well
if we play sydney away, we should wear black shorts, not white

i heard the prez say there's some constitution (which other clubs dont have) which makes it difficult for the club to have an alternate jumper. to change the constitution, it would have to be put to a vote to all members, and requires a high % of votes to change it. looks like the only way they'll have an away strip is if the afl directly orders them to.

I think we should wear the skinny sash heritage strip next time we play Melbourne, and St. Kilda, and see if anybody complains.

I'm not convinced a predominantly red guernsey is going to solve the problem.

Agreed. If it works, great. If it doesn't, we can still claim we're trying.
