View Full Version : More Channel Nine Oddness

This topic may have been covered in the past few months ... Maybe not.
If their week after week of CSI repeats in prime time is not peculiar enough, I was just the other day recalling the saturation advertising given by Channel Nine over the summer period to the upcoming series called "Cold Case".
Apparently it was the biggest thing going on in the States, and was "Coming Soon" to Nine.
So, here we are, virtually mid-year, still inundated by CSI:Vegas and CSI:Miami re-runs on Tues and Wed nights, and not even a vague reference by the station to the existence of the aforementioned Cold Case.
Anyone wanna make a suggestion ?!
Channel 9 are pricks? Maybe they'll put it on before their 6pm news in The Price Is Right fails.

And this whole Friends 'The Ones they love' is pathetic. Just admit you don't want to play the new episodes instead of pretending to put some sort of 'special series' together.
What makes it more galling is the fact that everyone knows that they can play the new ones any time they like, but are just milking it for all it's worth. No wonder people are starting to turn away from them.

Are ch9 saving the last 10 episodes of Friends until the Olympics are on ?
The last new episode was around about the first week of May.

There is generally a second wave of program changes that starts some time around August each year. Nine are probably saving stuff like Cold Case for then, in the hope it will help draw people away from Brucey and the Greeks. Hopefully Six Feet Under will also return at the same time!

Did the same with Miami and Without A Trace last year. Probably 8:30 Thursday after ER's finished. Even later this year because they're not showing anything new during the Olympics

There has'nt been any Star Trek Enterprise either. They used to put it on at some ungodly hour of the morning which was bad enough, but this year there has been no trace it. I'm going to get into trouble for saying that, but thats what ****es me off about channel Eddie at the moment.

Wont the time difference prevent the Olympics from being in prime time? Wont we just be recieiving replays in prime time etc?
I wouldnt think that the Olympics will be the ratings cash cow some are making out at Ch 7, unless of course you call 3 A.M. prime time for Ch 7
...which it probably is.

Why they took that off mid season I will never know. They could have turfed one of those low budget shyte lifestyle shows to put 2 and a half men on.
TV execs are just brainless idiots, just look at Channel 7.

What really ****es me off is it was rating very well, better than most of the shows currently on.
Besides the L word ;) & Sporanos it was the only show on tv I watched. Bit of a mismatch the three shows I listed

Gaso, Greece is actually only 7 hours behind us here, so given that most of the events start off at 10 a.m. Athens time, that equates to 5 p.m. Melbourne time.
So whilst most of the Aths, Hockey, Soccer etc will fit perfectly into our prime time, I would imagine most of the Swimming finals etc.. will turn up at about 2 or 3 a.m E.S.T.
i.e. we won't be seeing too many "Aussie Golds" live !!
