I don't like bringing this up mid year but I am interested in people's thoughts' It has been suggested that Rob Flower, a legend at the Club, could be the next President. I'd be delighted. A true legend, gentlemen and plenty experience on the business side of things.
Another possible one, Steven Smith, would also make a good president. I guess you just have to way up the benefits and decide with the Joe regime or this type of one. Here is an article from today.
Sport927 radio's Kevin Bartlett believes a new push to have Melbourne legend Robert Flower run for the club presidency has gained strength in recent days.
Bartlett aired the rumor on Sport927's Big Breakfast show this morning, but could not contact Flower to comment on the issue.
Flower has shown no inclination so far to enter the race for the presidency of the club. Former president Joseph Gutnick was widely thought to have the front running in the election to be decided after the end of the 2001 season.
Other names to have been raised as potential candidates include interim president Gabriel Szondy and former player and successful lawyer Steven Smith.
