How does the King's retirement affect our rookie list, if any?

Can we bring up another player such as Parker or Andrews, or are we screwed again.

On the kings fall - let me say I have never seen another person influence a game the way Wayne did.

He was an out and out champion who singlehandedly won games for the Kangas. He screwed us so many times with match winning performances.

The experiment of taking Wayne, in retrospect did not work out as we had hoped, but we took a risk, and if it had worked the AFC would have been seen as collective geniuses. You do not get anywhere in life if you arer not prepared to be a risk taker. Better to fail trying than to never try at all.

All the best Wayne.

What a nice gesture it would be for Wayne to do a lap of honour at the Adelaide/North Melbourne (Kangas) game? i wonder whether both sides would be prepared to line up as a guard of honour for him before the match. Maybe a little early for Stevo and Arch.

I think that would be a great idea, it's time for everyone now to get over it, and get on with life maybe it would go to some help in rebuilding burnt bridges;)

Just in regards to Parker - it's been said before, I'll say it again - how the hell could anyone at that football club sanction the retention of Skipworth's place on the list over Aiden?

The decision-making processes at this club have been laughable for a long time - hopefully with the dawn of this new (temporary) era we start to see some sanity and common sense come back into vogue.

I think that the club can still apply to the AFL to elevate a rookie as the cause of retirement was injury. We'll see.

If so, I think elevate Parker and put him straight into full back. At least we will be able to see if he's up to it.

The club should argue that Carey is a long-term injury - so much that the injury has forced him to retire.

Wouldn't common sense then prevail and allow Parker to be elevated??

That's the AFL rules!!! I reckon it is ridiculous that you can't elevate a rookie after a retirement. Staying within the salary cap should be the only consideration. What would the AFL had done if Smart "pulled a hammy" last week having already announced it as his last game?

It is no con in Carey's instance - the injury has forced his retirement so a rookie should be allowed onto the list. Hopefully we will find out soon.

As retirements can't be replaced by rookies, I would also put a bounty on Ronnie's head so that any AFC players in the SANFL get a bonus for breaking his leg ;).......this would demonstrate to the AFL how stupid their rules are.

If Ronnie goes onto the LT injury list then we can also have a look at Hazell before the season is out.

Let's have a look at these guys and see if they are up to it. If not, they need to make way for someone elseas neither Parker or Hazell are kids anymore.
