View Full Version : Bell isn't our Captain
Just went on the Afl website and the story on the front page written by Jenny Mcasey and Scott Coghlan state that Peter Bell is our captain.
Get your facts right you wally's it's Fletcher and MCManus!
Maybe they are referring to next year...

PS Do you freo supporters think he should be captain next year?
Not if Fletcher is still at the club. Otherwise yeah.
Don't you think though the club needs a new look (with a new coach and all) and having Bell as captain could be the start of the new Freo Dockers. Fletcher is a good player but I would associate him with the old Freo dockers and from what friends have been telling me (those who support Freo) he aint that popular with Allen?!?

I kind of agree with what you're saying but Im of the view that you have to earn the captainancy. While Bell is a good player I don't think he's done enough to earn the right to be captain at Freo.

So who else at Freo has 2 Premiership Medals...
Rooboy 96 that is true but he has his two medallions with NM not Freo. Would you give Matthew Llyod the captiancy if he came to your club based on his efforts at Essendon. I am of the view that people who have put their heart and sole into the club should be captian over someone who has been there 5 mins.

Matty Lloyd would come in around 8th in leadership qualities at North... so I don't think that is a very good arguement... I understand what you mean... but whoelse at Freo has the same or better LEADERSHIP qualities???
Fletcher is the one that would get it over Bell.
Toia, Kickett and Parker would all make good leaders in my view but as we all know Toia is badly injured and Kickett and Parker don't like dealing with the media.

Fletcer is already captain.Wait for the big suprise next year I will give you the inside oil,Glenn Jackovich will captain the Dockers next year.Trust me.;) ;) ;)
Anchorman are you for real??
This begs 2 questions.
1. Do we want him?
2. What would we have to give up?
As a captain I have rated Fletcher highly as mentioned above but i've never rated McManus. Over the last few weeks McManus has shown that he is a reasonable captain and im starting to come round. (if only he had the skills)

Of course I am serious Balip. He would give us some on field leadership and be able to help the kids at the club.As it is now it appears to me that the youngsters at the club are basically left to fend for themselves. That is why Jacko is such a good player now is because the Eagles had good on field and off field leaders at the club.Eg:Worsfold,Mckenna,Kemp,Brennan and co.Trust me he would be a very valuable pick up.The snag could be that the Eagles have just signed him up again, but that would have been for the same reason as they signed Summa. To stop them from coming home where they belong. What is the cost???Maybe give them back Fewster and a later draft choice.
