Just been doing a bit of research. And if we get the Priority Picks and hawks dont. Then this is what we should get.
#1. Brett Deledio- Sublime midfielder with great skills on both feet. Strong overhead and can play anywhere. Much like a bruce or a embley. Same height aswell.
#2. Jarryd Roughhead- KP player who is already good weight and ready to play AFL. He is a strong player and has played mostly FB and CHB. Would slot straight into our backline.
#18- John Meeson- One of the better TAC Cup Ruckman who is a really good tap ruckman. He is very athletic and is 200cm and is still growing. Good skills aswell and cna kick a goal. Has a penetrating kick. Exciting prospect.

I agree with your analysis. Irrespective of the reputation of the ruckman in the draft, I wouldnt use our first pick on a ruckman. I think picking up good ruckman is a bit of a lottery. Look at Guy Richards from Collingwood for example. Not sure of his origins but I doubt he would have been one of the top draft picks in his year. He is performing OK though

On the Sunday Football Show, Bickley acknowledged that Ottens would be targeted by the Crows at years end given the aging big players Adelaide have.
If Richmond finish will less than 6 wins and ended up trading Ottens to Adelaide for their first round draft pick, Richmond could potentially have 3 picks in the top 10.
That, together with a new coach would be a huge step in rebuilding the club.
I must admit, the thought of 3 picks in the top 10 (even with losing Ottens) really excites me

There will be better options than Roughead at 2. Roughead turns it n for 5 minutes at a time then goes missing for long periods. He is a talent but not as good as Schulz who went at 12.

For anyone watching some of the U/18 championships these guys are probably the pick of the South Australian bunch.
Ryan Griffen - Midfielder with great skills has been making an impact in the seniors with South Adelaide.
Cameron Wood - Huge ruckmen, possibly 200cm(?), has managed a couple of games under Shaun Rehn for West Adelaide.
Angus Mofries - Midfielder from Sturt with good skills, size will be the thing that may hold him back.
No idea about what number these guys could be drafted as haven't seen anything of the Victorian or West Australians.

Like to know more about roughhead, wary of juniors that have played FB all their careers, generally at AFL level they are ex forwards...

I think Franklin would still rank in the top 2. I also dont see Hawthorn missing out on a priority we may infact end up with pick 2 and 4 and that probably means Franklin and Roughead weaver! even though I agree that Roughead needs to do more...more often.

Only thing that worries me about franklin is he is from WA and i think thats where he wants to play. I dont want us to be in the situation that the lions were in a few years like what happened with headland. They got him with a high pick and he just missed home to much. Deledio, roughhead and Meeson are all victorians.
Can franklin play defence btw?

we aren't going to get prority picks. With guys like richo and browny in the team, we are guaranteed another win or two whether we like it or not.

makes me pretty firm in the ol jodpurs too, it would be a tremendous launch pad for a new coach
Surely we have to draft roughhead - just because of his name !!!!!

Wrenny thats a short sighted view and I take offense to that. Nothing wrong with WA boys and you only have to look at the quality of some of them to realise that point, if you cross them out then your selling our club short.
We need to get the best possible player in the draft at the time of our picks.

Roughhead is a CHF for Gippsland. Has been a highly rated prospect for a few years now. He has that ability to do some very special things and be really eye-catching but he tends to play in 10 minutes bursts and go cold for a quarter. I am not quite sold on him yet as a number 1 pick, more likely 5-10.

Goddam that would be ever so sweet. But i really do think that we need to draft at least 1 KP player if we get the priority picks. I think we have a pretty good midfield as it is and i would be rapped to add judd, deledio and ball to it but i would prefer to get some big KP talent into there. Apparantly West Coast really do want to get that franklin character. I think thats a pretty good idea if judd does wanna go home. We get a classy midfielder and we get rid of bloody gasper and we still get to keep a first rounder. I would be happy.
But if we got ball, judd and deledio we would really need our KP players to stand up in Moore, Archibald, Schultz, Weller, Morrison etc. Thats why it would of been good to get Franklin with our First Round Draft Pick.
But shall be interesting

Imagine if we did get deledio, judd and Ball.
That would mean we could trade blumfield, Rodan, bowden and chaffey pretty much for a few forwards and backs.
This would be the side.
B: Zantuck Hall Pettifer
HB: Moore A.Kellaway K.Johnson (C)
C: Tivendale Judd Hyde
HF: Weller Morrison Schultz
FF: Krakouer Richo Brown
Foll: Ottens (vc) Ball Coughlan
Int: Staff, Deledio, Newman, Fiora
Emg: Tuck, Hartigan, Jackson
Also our traded players would be pressing for selection and our new youngsters.
Campbell, Rogers and D.Kellaway would all be retired. And sum players being traded and delisted we can finally rebuild.
