Sportal
Richmond has confirmed that Shane Tuck will make his debut for the club at the Gabba on Saturday night against the Brisbane Lions.

Tuck, 22, joined the club from West Adelaide with the 73rd selection overall at last year’s National AFL Draft. He has been a solid VFL performer for Coburg throughout 2004 and had 22 possessions in a loss to North Ballarat on Saturday.

He is the son of Michael Tuck, the AFL/VFL record games holder, who played 426 games for Hawthorn between 1972 and 1991.

Shane Tuck was a rookie listed player at Hawthorn in 2001 and 2002, but struggled because of injury.

And a few more players will be blooded before the year is out from what Greg Miller suggested about 30 mins ago on 3aw.

Good luck Shane, hope you have a great debut.

It's about time. He's done well at Coburg for most of the year and is one guy who has really earned a crack at senior level. With a bit of luck (and gametime) we will probably be saying "why didn't he get a run earlier?"

And which bright spark thought it was a good idea to announce his inclusion for this weeks game directly after dannys press conference. :confused

Best of luck to the kid anyway as he enters the lions den.

It'll be interesting to see if Morrsion gets a run against his old side. Now that Danny isn't coaching for his future I think they'll be more imaginative at the selection table. I think Frawley will be a figurehead coach and Miller will be selecting the team ie. look for guys like Jackson to get a couple of games under his belt before the year is out.

I certainly do think Miller has to take the reigns now as far as direction in selection goes.

Let Danny pull out the cliches at the end of the game but allow Miller to decide who gets a go and where.

We cant rely on draft choices at the end of the year, we have to find something in someone somewhere as its not as if there are ten ready made AFL players in the draft.

Im hoping that a good coach will be able to turn around a number of players that have stagnated under Danny.
