I found an Inside Football dated Feb. 1996, which showed who your club had drafted in the 1996 Pre Season Draft.
The Lions had pick no.1 and no. 4. Who did they pick ?
There's a write-up on the No. 1 pick and ALSO a big article on Brunswick St. The record attendance there was 34,756 in 1923. The Gabba is just a little more than that now - imagine how popular footy was in the 1920's to get that number into that ground.
Also an interesting interview with Robbie Walls ( new Richmond coach !! ) about his Fitzroy experience - asked whether Fitzroy should go , he replied 'Yeah, they should go and should have gone 10 years ago to Brisbane. It would have saved alot of heartache and hassle for 2 clubs'.
