Good to see Hobart win and Kingborough has probably caused the upset of the season against the pies. Brighton looked competitive and good to see the eagles get up over clarence, comp has now been thrown wide open and Hobart and Kingbrough look to be closing in on the leaders.

Looks like I was right about the Lauderdale/Brighton game, although I thought of the wrong game in tipping it :D

Kingborough/Glenorchy game was a scrappy one, the ground was like a mud heap. Pretty nice day down in Kingston, a Glenorchy player was taken to hospital, not sure who it was, I have a bad feeling that it may have been Piuselli(sp?) again. As we were leaving the game, we saw the ambulance stop as it was on it's way to Hobart.

I think North Hobart's finals hopes took a major blow yesterday by losing to Hobart. Great to see Clarence lose, it's always great when those fools lose a game.

Very interesting round in the Prem guys.
Hobart did very, very well in beating North at an horrific TCA, the ground's in dreadful condition like it is usually after bad weather.
Also good to see that there was more atmosphere at the game yesterday.
The supporters were getting into it more, and the players were more enthusiastic. When Hobart won, the players gathered in front of the main stand for a rousing rendition of the club song - All the players roared the words TIGERS in it as well;)

Lauderdale having to kick 4.10 to 0.1 in the last quarter to beat Brighton :o That, I did not expect.

Kingborough knocking off the Pies at The Pit  After last week's displays, I didn't tip that one either.

Norfik giving the Roos a pumping at Bellerive:confused: good win that, always nice to see the poofters lose.

Well said my friend.

Was the crowd a little bigger than normal or were they just more energetic.

The league is wide open and hopefully it gets the publicity it deserves.

stuff the Devils

The game down Kingston had a lot of bad umpiring, not only for Kingborough, but towards the end the umpire decided it was time to even it up and handed off 3 frees to the Magpies. I wouldn't of worried about the umpiring if he didn't give them atleast 3 goals.

But that isn't what lost it for us, bad kicking, turn overs, and sloppy football were the main reasons. Could of used Careless, Street, Lang, and Henley yesterday.

Hehehehe good to see no one likes Clarence here:D
Crowd was about 400 I'd guess, I never saw the figures.
Lot more barracking from the supporters, and stirring things up etc....lol

There are 7 sides than can still mathematically make the finals, the only one who can't is Brighton.
Although in percentage terms, and form, you would have to say Lauderdale will miss out.
I think it will be between the Barts, North and Kingborough for the 4th & 5th spots.
I'll post the ladder possies when I get a chance later.

Devils supporters = Soulless, black cap and coat wearing elitists who hang around the "club" just to say they are involved with the elite of Tasmanian football - Theatre goers the lot of 'em.

I am writing a letter to FootballTas:

Dear Football Tas.

I am just writing to say on behalf of myself and many people, that we believe the Devils concept is not the best thing for football in Tasmania. The Devils are a successful club on and off the field, but they will draw a crowd of
2-3000 in the north and 3-4000 in the south. This is good although when you remember back to the old TFL and Statewide League days(until about 1993), there were probably 5 or 6 clubs capable of drawing similar crowds and membership. It seems having the Devils is a step backward it is such a limited market for young kids, at the moment kids don’t want to play in the SFL or NTFL(unless their loyal), they want to play Devils, but there are only 22 spots each weekend for the Devils so all our fringe talent will either go interstate or take up rugby or soccer. What I am saying is that we need a super-league, similar to the Statewide League, but better managed (financially). If Tasmania wants an AFL team we need a strong competition behind it, look at South Australia, they would not have 2 AFL teams if the SANFL was not backing it, it gives players who are not quite good enough, don’t want to or are retired from AFL a chance to play in a high standard league.

I have some teams in mind for the league

Glenorchy
North Hobart
Clarence
Hobart
New Norfolk
Huonville
Northern Bombers
Burnie
Launceston
Devonport*

* Merger between East Devonport and Devonport.

Scott Devine has added some more comments from the aflst forum aflst.2.forumer.com/index.php.

anything to add.

Devils supporters sound like Clarence supporters during the finals, that is the only time you ever see one.

I think either Kingborough or Lauderdale will make the last spot, don't think North have much of a chance, they have been less then convincing this season.

I think it's time for the guys at Football Tas to help get some of these kids back into footy. Auskick is a good idea, but it doesn't really help the junior footy leagues. Get the little kids out there playing during the half time break, not only does it get the kids involved in footy, but will help get some more bums in seats.

kids playing at half time in SFL games is a great idea and should be inforced. The kids have to be loyal to their clubs and want to play seniors for their club, by going and watching their seniors instead of the Devils, they will and their parents will support their SFL club. If this support continues then the Devils will be left high and dry and their supporters can migrate back to bellerive.

Bring in the TFL SuperLeague!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Long Live the TFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I remember back when I used to play, the only way I would of gotten to some of the games was to play during half time, they used to give out a double pass for the kids and their parents to get in. Well these days kids are free, so if they give out a pass for their parents, I reckon they could get them interested in local footy.
