View Full Version : Brennan and Shattock
I read dire injury reports on these guys. What's the story, Qldians ?
Yeah, just as we were looking like we had some depth too.
Brennan's obviously still developing but he always gives you a kind of flexibility that not many can match. In a pinch he can ruck, play tall forward pocket, tag an athletic forward, cane up and down a wing... even though he hasn't done much, he gives you a 'wild card' that would worry other coaches.

I was close to the Brennan injury. He was on the bottom of a large pack and came out of it in a bad way. The suprising thing there was that he was not taken off straight away.
The doc went out to him and he just tried to shake it off, didn't look good at all. Didn't suprise me in the slightest, it is one of the risks involved with playing these young guys in the reserves, teams like the Northern Eagles are very physical, and use this as there only chance of beating the opposition.

Looked to me as if he threw his shoulder out - throwing a couple of big ones into an Eagles player who was on the bottom of the pack
Meanwhile, Jared Brennan is clinging to the hope that he will play in the 2004 finals for Brisbane after an MRI scan yesterday cleared him of the need for immediate season-ending shoulder surgery. Brennan, who dislocated his shoulder in the reserves on Saturday, will be sidelined for four to six weeks. - The Age
That's better news, however just about rules him out of the finals as Leigh would like to have players seasoned and in some form for the September action.

Probably.
But hope springs eternal. Hadley would have been training away this time last year - well over 2 years since his last game - thinking "they're not going to pick me 'on spec' into a final, so if I can't get into the side in the next few weeks, I'm gone"
If you're good enough to keep yourself in the picture, you never know.

The difference was, Hadley was fit, training hard and playing regular in the seconds. Brennan won't have that luxury.

Last nights news on fox said Brennan 4 - 6 weeks with a partial dislocated shoulder i think it was.
shattock up to 7 weeks with stress fractures in his foot.
Hubby said Shattock was MIA when he took the kids to training last week. The other walking wounded were about but he was no where to be seen.

Brennan now out for the season - hope he's not another Cupido.

I sure hope he has a good doc, I can recommend Greg Hoy, the absolute best in Australia for shoulders.
