What a great show. I defy anyone to watch it and not feel better about yourself after. All the characters are just shocking human beings.

Tony reached a new low last night with his actions against Janice.

Love the ending of that episode.

You sort of think he's coming around and might embrace anger management and be happy for his sister but instead he proves to himself that it doesn't work by purposely testing out Janice. As he walks out the door and the excellent, and often over looked, 'I'm Not like Everybody Else' by The Kinks (a live version from the mid 90's I believe, excellent version) hits you realise he's Tony Soprano, he answers to no one and nobody tells him how to behave.

Classic Sopranos.

Seems to be building up to a crescendo at the end of the season....someones gonna have to get whacked, and I don't think it'll be Tony.

I reckon Finn, Meadow's boyfriend is gonna come to a sticky end soon too! ;)

I reckon the various crisis' that Tony has been put through both personally and profesionally have shown a vulnerable side that can only exact sympathy from us, the viewers. His efforts at the birthday party of his father in law drew us dangerously into a belief that he is basically a good guy with the same hang ups as anyone else. Once again David Chase and his brilliant writers have ripped that image to shreds. The raw violence of his totally unprovoked attack on Georgie and the dramatic, cruel, thoughtless baiting of his own sister for no other reason than to appease his own weaknesses show Tony for what he really is. The way that we can still be shocked by the stripping away of the sheeps clothing many of those in The Sopranos wear to see the real demonic characters underneath is the essence of this quite peerless show. Television at its absolute best.

Fantastic show.. one of only 2 that i religiously watch (Six Feet Under being the other).

The last 3 episodes are gonna be classic.. could be a few surprises coming up i think. Hopefully Johnny Sack will get his come uppance before too long.

Tony's baiting of Janice was downright mean & unnecessary as was the attack on Georgie.. seem to remember a similar attack on him in earlier series involving the singing fish toy.

The writers do a fantstic job but i also love the way they get exactly the right song for the moment... like the end of the show when Tony walked up the street as mentioned earlier.

Already looking forward to the 6th season.

Isn't this the last season? That's the impression I was under; or is the U.S an entire season ahead of us and that's the last? I hope so, because I can't see everything getting wrapped up in three episodes.

Fantastic show, and another brilliant episode.

Watching last week, I kept thinking Finn is going to get himself in a lot of trouble too.

The US is either a season ahead or the next season is currently being filmed or just finished.

The ten-episode sixth season will begin production in early 2005. Will make for a slim box set.

No 'Sopranos' Until 2006

Mon Jul 26, 2:52 PM ET

NEW YORK - No "Sopranos" family members will get knocked off in 2005. That's because HBO has announced Thursday that the sixth and final season of the popular mob drama won't premiere until sometime in 2006.

"It's like the Harry Potter book," HBO chairman Chris Albrecht said last week. "You'll wait very long and be happy when you get it."

Albrecht said "The Sopranos" creator and executive producer David Chase can take all the time he needs to write, hinting the final season could become longer than the 10 episodes Chase committed to in January.

"The Sopranos" wrapped up its fifth season last month.

"Until the last episode of `The Sopranos` airs, I'm always hopeful," Albrecht said.

Monday week is the 2 hour finale of The Apprentice ,so the final episode of The Sopranos might not be on for a few weeks.

So I caught the second half of tonight's penultimate episode (after Oz) having seen it a few months back.
One of the best Sopranos ever in my opinion.
So, who saw it coming with Adrianna?

Her final scene with Sil in the car is a great one I think. Really leaves you thinking - 'what was she crying about?'

Was she worried about Chris' supposed suicide attempt? (she's very naive remember)

Was she crying because of the whole FBI situation?

or of course, did she realise that Sil, so often the hitman, was about to do her in?

Great scene. Sad to see Aid go, such an innocent character but in the end, the naive and gullible are going to slip up eventually in the world of Sopranos.

How's Chris eh? mobster through and through, seriously one cold bastard.
You sometimes forget just how cold and murderous these characters are. Take Oz for example, the brutality and just how sick those guys are is constantly thrown in your face, you know the unstable guys are pretty much just homicidal maniacs but with Sopranos, they are humanised and you even come to like them, even though they'd kill anyone if they crossed them or even rubbed them up the wrong way.

Great final scene with Tony and Johnny too. Classic Tony.

Great episode. As soon as you saw Chris looking at that family in the street, obviously battlers, you knew he could never do the witness protection thing. Poor old Adrianna was doomed from that point on. For all his supposed hatred for Tony, Chris still manages to have her killed first. Cold as ice.

Loved the scene at the end in the FBI office. The female detective telling the blokes to get a wriggle on, "she could be in China by now". Priceless. The look the blokes gave her said it all. She's as dead as a door-knob and we're screwed.

Should be interesting things coming up between Tony and Johnny Sac.

Christopher remains the second most wonderfully complicated character after Tony. Michael Imperioli does wonderful justice to his script.

It was a damn weird episode but a work of pure genius. Not any normal stupid drama would do something like that.

TheBloods
3 Aug 2004, 12:36
Another great episode. You could see when Christopher was at the gas station and looking at his beloved new humvee that he didn't want to give up the money and excitement of being a "soldier." Seeing the struggling couple just confirmed it.

Christopher's Springsteen quote was slightly out of character though - a bit of humour for someone who rarely has much. Wonder if he'd been doing some drugs already.

The final episode will be great and last season spectacular. It's a pity we have to wait so long for it and it will be so short. Why is it there are so few good shows like this on TV!

Great Episode from one of the best if not the best (in my opinion) show going around at the moment. Poor Ad's, tho not the brightest bulb.....interesting plot line.....we weren't shown the body....hmmmmm

On a lighter note - how hungry & thirsty do you lot get watching this show - talk about crave a glass of red & pasta...

Typical ch 9 "disrespecting" the viewer - not on next week...

There was some talk about maybe the very slight possibility she may return next season, however that was all speculation.

Nice effort of the FBI's to expect Chris to put Aidriana over the family. Poor research there. They have the blood of both Big Pussy and Aidrianna on their hands now.

Tony's ghosts always find a way of coming back to haunt him...

Adrianna was the best female character in that show in my opinion.
I've been anticiparing her death scene ever since she first got hooked up with the FBI and last night didn't disappoint. I never dreamed it would be Sil tho, it definitely showed a new dimension. The seemingly sincere compassion and then the smirk came over his face.

Was everyone who doesn't own the complete season DVDs aware that they've been re-packaged and are selling fairly cheaply at Kmart and JB now?
They're something like $38 per season.

Ha. Pussy, the Fat F***.

We here at home play a drinking game while Sops is on. I get a drink when someone is called a "Fat F***".

My partner drinks on "What the f***!?"

Try it. It's good clean, wholesome fun for the family. Pick your often repeated phase and when it comes out, bottoms ups.

This was a great scene. Sil always seemed to have some sort of compassion (however little it was) but when he dragged her out of the car and say "come on you c***" it showed he seemed to have absolutely no misgivings about doing it - just p1ssed that he has to do it at all.

[B] The guy from the E Street Band (a whole new thread there)who plays Sil was on Jay Leno a couple of weeks ago & they showed the clip where "he" shoots Ads & Leno hinted at that she might not be dead but all he got back was a "goofey" grin & a no comment!!!

Yeah the episode was ok, but my standout episodes for the whole season are as follows:

Irregular Around the Margin was where Tony and Adrianna almost got it on, the the rumour mill went into overdrive & Chris went psycho.

Sentimental Education is the one where Buscemi's character tried to open up the massage business and then got completely mental at the conclusion before giving up on going straight.

In Camelot was the episode where Uncle Junior was trying to get release from house arrest to go to every Italian funeral in the papers, Tony met his old man's goomah and she turned out to be a total freak, (remember her frightening version of Happy Birthday Mr President after revealing she had a thing with JFK?), Tony realised his mom made his dad give his dog 'Tippy' away and Chris introduced us to his new friend from rehab, the screenwriter who would have been wishing he never got mixed up with the mob by the end.

The Test Dream was when Tony's goomah set herself on fire, then he launched into that crazy dream sequence.

Long Term Parking being Adrianna's last episode.

I'm unsure if I could squeeze any of these into my top 3.
Thoughts anyone?
