wow... i was really unimpressed with that performance... it's not we played bad, though we made a few bad mistakes and didn't make the swana pay for theirs enough, it just seems we were beaten by a better side on the day.
the crowd was a big advantage to them and we were very lucky in those 19 points they kicked, 9 in the 3rd quarter!
i guess we just didn't want it enough, and they did, oh well... no second place for us... maybe next week?
The swans tackling was superb. I agree that we didn't play that badly, just compared to Sydney, I don't think the players wanted it enough.
And I thought that Tadgh Kennelly (sp?!) was very good in his first game.

he was very good, i love his accent! but anyway... this has got me scared, we've got freo in 2 weeks and it's not that that i'm worried about, u see for the next two weeks, including today, they've had to play teams on losing streaks, port, dunno how many tey lost but i was quite a few, and now they've got the bully's who have had at least two really bad losses... now anyway i'm guessing both these teams will beat freo and so will we but if the pattern continues... we'd have to lose to melbourne!!!
Is it me or is Manton as funny on the ground as he is on the footy show. Why do Carlton persist with him:confused:

i'm usually not impressed with manton at all, he always seems to be behind his player and not doing much except when we play essendon, this year he didn't even seem to do that! but he actually played OK yesterday, not great but OK
I was at the game yesterday supporting your lot and it seemed that the Blues were a bit lost with SOS pulling out late and Lance doing his knee in the first five minutes. Kouta could not hold a mark either, whereas the Swans were holding everything. It was unbelievable. Unfortunately, you guys got the Swans at their peak....next week they will lay down and let Hawthorn kick the SHIIIT out of them.....

Spot on Briedis. Sos was replaced with a smaller player and the cupboard was bare when Whitnall went down. Kouta couldn't hold his marks but Dunkley was knocking his arms away all the time instead of spoiling the ball. Hard to mark one handed.
Why is everyone so suprised that Carlton dropped a match to Sydney at the SCG? We haven't won up there for at least 7 or 8 years.
Sydney even belted us there in '95, when we only dropped two matches all year!
Sure, losing SOS and Lance didn't help, but it came as no suprise that we dropped it.

it's true that we haven't won at the SCG since 93 i think but we haven't played there for 4 years
the thing with us is we're expected to win every match, what match can't we win this year? give me one! and don't say essendon coz we can do that! it wasn't a bad loss and to come that close to winning in any interstate game is good of course a win would've been better!
