I am really looking to go to the UK next year to play cricket (2005) and was wondering if anyone around these parts has done so.
Did you use an agency? Which one, How did you go about the whole thing, did you enjoy it etc etc.
Any information would be really appreciated

Any information would be really appreciated depends on what level youre at. From the sounds of it you are decent player. A few first graders at my old club went to keep their skills tuned during the off season, and they arranged it through the club, and the secretary made calls and set up deals, accomodation etc etc.. helps to be a reasonable player because English grade clubs are willing to pay for Australian talent and most of the time paid for their gear, accomodation etc, often in return for just playing with the club or doing some work with the cricket club (coaching juniors etc)
but on the other hand i also know a few blokes who now live in England who are your average park cricketers, and they just applied to a club in exactly the same manner as what you'd do here (write to the club enquire about pre-season training, net sessions, details like that.)

I have already registered with this mob but they are taking a fair amount of time to get back to me.
I'm not the worst cricketer going around, just want to go over to have a good life experience and enjoy my cricket whilst still taking it seriously. Whilst hopefully seeing a bit of the ashes

I know a bloke who has some contacts in England. He helped set it up for a couple of players from here to go across.
If you're fair dinkum pm me and I'll give you his contact number and he should be able to give you some people to speak to.

I am certainly fair dinkum but just as it is still pretty early in the piece weighing up all options. Will drop you a line Dogwatcher at a later date just putting out the feelers at the moment.
The message board goes alright LFC, might have a dip at that aswell. Cheers guys

Am based in Melbourne, play Senior Division of the VTCA am a top order batsmen
