No seriously, apparently they're making another one.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0418068/
Steve Guttenberg is back as Mahoney, as is most of the original cast. (Tackleberry won't be though - died a couple of years ago).
Set to come out in 2006.
Now, I know you shouldn't make presumptions before the film's even been made, but I've got this feeling it's going to suck.
Modern day Nostradaumus, I am. ;)

You mean Tackelberry died? Vale, fine thespian. The candle blew out long before the legend ever did. How sad. Keep the wisecracks coming in that big police academy in the sky, big fella.

These guys run classes in how to flog a dead horse.
well at least guttenberg is back... the police academy movies really sucked without mahoney... lets hope the long break has rejuvinated them a bit and we don't get another flop... at least with the original writers and director of the first one there is hope...

David Graf died April 7, 2001.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Excerpt from April edition of Variety Magazine by Dave McNary:
HOLLYWOOD (Variety) - Character actor and union activist David Graf, best known for his roles in the "Police Academy'' movies, died Saturday of a heart attack at a wedding in Arizona. He was 50.
Graf appeared in all seven "Police Academy'' films as Eugene Tackleberry and had a recurring role as Col. Chase in NBC White House drama "The West Wing.''
Other movie credits include "Rules of Engagement,'' ''Citizen Ruth", "Guarding Tess", "The Brady Bunch Movie" and "American Kickboxer 2".
Graf was a member of the Screen Actors Guild (news - web sites)'s national board as a Hollywood representative, the TV-theatrical steering committee, the new technologies caucus and the national disciplinary review committee. He also served as an alternate on the expanded national executive committee.
SAG president William Daniels said, "His kindness, generosity of spirit and ability to tirelessly work for the better of actors will be missed."
Graf's other credits include "Highjacked: Flight 285", "Father and Scout", "Roseanne: An Unauthorized Biography" and "For Their Own Good".
He is survived by his wife, Kathy, and two children.

Wonder what kind of role Tackleberry's mum plays in P.A. 8?

Here's a movie that sucks more than PA8:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0111018/
The movie needs tits, arse, someone's head going up a horse's arse, funny sound effects by Michael Winslow, and a goofy plot. IT will be a winner then.
Blue Oyster Bar! hahahahaha

You mean there's a film version of Rosanne's real life starring Tackleberry as Tom Arnold??? That could well be the worst film ever. I must see it.
Now before talking about Tackleberry I was of course extracting the urine, but it turns out this guy (David Graf) had an amazing career, and appeared on many of the crappest tv shows ever made.
Dukes of hazzard
The A-Team
Hardcastle & Mrs. McCormack
Airwolf
Charles In Charge
Beauty and the Beast
Family Matters
Step By Step
Louis & Clark
Star trek Deep Sleep Nine
Party of Five
Caroline in the City
Jag
----------
The guy must've really been shyte to get on so many bad shows.

When Ted McGinley appears on your show, you know it's about to jump the shark.
But when Tackleberry appears on your show, you know that your show was always crap to begin with.

I reckon Married With Children got funnier when Ted McGinley joined in.

Deep Space Nine being Graf's one moment of redemption...
Guttenberg must be desperate to get back on this train.

I read that he died of cardiac arrest. Oh well, I won't be seeing the movie anyway, so I guess it's not gong to affect me too much :\
Please save us from any more Michael Winslow sound effects, Jimmy Hendrix & Bruce Lee impersonations. :(

Amusing in a different way, but not funnier.
Kim Cattrall (Samantha from Sex and the City) was in the original, I hope she gets involved in this new one.

Well it seems there is going to be a junior Tackleberry involved...because Tackleberry's wife is now listed as Tackleberry's mother!!!
