He makes runs against West Indies who coudlnt get bloody South Australia on some days, all the English people who think he can play the game should have a good look at them selves.

He looks a good batsman with a nice technique, but yeah, it's only the Windies, hopefully he can prove himself against better bowling in the next year

my mum could have good structure against them, he cant make a run against anyone else, against Aus next series he wont make a run

Agree on the first point, he's carrying a bit but he does have a decent technique. Meant to have a good temperament too although it seems to be either all or nothing with him at the moment - big scores or not much. Still not fully convinced he's the long term answer but he's relatively young (25) in cricketing terms so he has plenty of time to improve.

look at all the top cricketers in the world
he is the fattest by far
wen he plays australia he will be lucky to make a run and if he does it will be a fluke

Key is to fat to play at the elite level

I didn't like him up until now, but now I've seen he's worked on his technique and I enjoy watchign him bat. So I think he's starting to fulfill his potential.

Mate im sorry to say David Boon was a gun he made almost 7500 test runs with and average of almost 43, scoring 21 100's in just 107 tests and if Robert Key plays that many and does that well come back and talk to us about it

You ever notice the least coherent posts come from newcomers? I'm sure I wasn't as stupid when I started posting on here.

And for the record Warnie was a bit plump for a while too. He seemed okay at the "elite level" until the drugs took hold...

Why?

You said Key is too fat to play at the elite level, and he used the example of David Boon as a fat player who has excelled at the elite level.

If you want some more examples, then Inzaman Ul Haq, Darren Lehmann and Clive Lloyd. Arjuna Ranatunga, for the penis that he is, didn't have an unsuccessful career either.

Just field him in the slips. it's a cheap shot, not a legitimate reason as to why he can't/won't succeed.

You can't really judge Key until the upcoming ashes series. He plays the quicks well and seems to have a bit of heart. If Key continues this form against us, then you'll change your tune - but most people here don't really care what "your" opinion is newbie.

Good luck to Key, Cricket needs England to be at least competive against us.. :)

The word on the street is that he might have to work on his fitness to keep his place in the one day team, but he's got no worries in the test arena.

What about Darren Lehmann?

He isn't exactly slender

Anyone who makes 93no on the 5th day to win a test match must have some ability regardless of whether they are playing the Windies or not.
221 in the opening game also wasn't a bad effort, it takes some concentration to make a double regardless of opposition.

I think I'll wait a bit longer before posting that he is a poor player, remember he was widely praised for his attitude and temperement when playing against Australia a couple of years ago (other then getting out to Martyn!)

However what can I say your Fat ******* argument has clearly won me over.

Neverless personally I am looking forward to seeing Ian Bell play, he has big raps from Rod Marsh and has been carving it up at county level.

the brit/englanders/pomes/losers are getting a bit cocky.

I'd like to see the aussies give them a good bitch slapping, say 5 zip or 4 zip with a couple of innings defeats or a good 10 wicket thrashing or two to remind those girls who is no.1 and who is no. crap!

Aussies to hammer the girls from the england and traumatise another generation of posers.

What about Greg Ritchie? He was fat and... oh that's right... he couldn't bat. If Key is the key for England then that Ashes cabinet is staying well and truly locked. I don't have pay TV, has anyone seen Strauss bat? He seems to get plenty of runs and plenty of raps.

But he was and still is one of the leading cultural satirists we've ever produced. Mahatma Cote. Gold. Pure gold.
