GLENORCHY will honour its footy greats at KGV on Friday night.
A feature will be the announcement of three new inductees into the Magpies' Hall of Fame.
While it is not official, the whisper is that one of them will be Hawthorn and Glenorchy goalkicking legend Peter Hudson.
Inductees will be announced by former state premier Doug Lowe.
Another former premier, one-time Melbourne player Ray Groom, is the guest speaker.
A star attraction will be former New Town and Tasmanian player Barry Strange, who was inducted into the club's Hall of Fame in 2002 and is a member of Glenorchy's Team of the Century.
Strange, an All-Australian representative who played under the great Roy Cazaly, is delighted to see Glenorchy back in its traditional black-and-white strip.
"When they played in different colours and were called the Storm their support dropped off, but now it's growing strong again,'' he said.
The New Town and Glenorchy Past Players and Officials Association is believed to be the only club of its kind in Tasmania that has held continuous annual reunions since 1948.
Tickets, which cost $25, include a three-course dinner and can be obtained by phoning Shayne Stevenson on 6272 9593 or Graham Kelly on 6273 3552.
