Saw it yesterday at Sanity - Be warned...Sanity - $34.99

I'll wait to see if Big W get it...It'll be $10 cheaper...

I was speaking with Rob Sitch about 2 weeks ago, he said it would be out in time for Father's Day...

Disappointed with no extra features... :(

Oh Well, The Poolroom edition has got great flashy packaging, can see it deteriorating over the years though with constant use...

The cheapest price around is Target at $26 odd.

The fact that it's barebones puts me off, but i have to replace my R1 version.

I ordered it on the Net through Ezy DVD and got it for $29 plus a free bottle opener

I think the whole point is there are no extras to go with the no frills of the movie. Straight to the poolroom with DVD to remain there on the shelf :)

Well maybe so, but then they could really get into the spirit and charge a no frills price, couldn't they?

I mean sheesh, I picked up the two disc editions of both The Good, The Bad and The Ugly; and Battle of Britain yesterday - also brand new releases - and each was cheaper than The Castle and both were jam-packed with extras.

Both also look fantastic on DVD. The Castle would still remain one of the ugliest-shot films ever.

EzyDVD aren't exactly cheap either. They are on the high end in terms of etailers.

If i have to order from an R4 online store, i go with Atlantic, who are generally cheaper (charging $27 for The Castle) and i've found their shipping to also be better.

True, but its still cheaper than Sanity.
Sanity have some DVDs at $39.99,yet you go to Target,KMART,JB Hi-Fi or Big W and the same thing can be $25 or less.

I agree.

Considering The Panel didn't come back till a month ago, I thought they might be working on stuff like preparing extras for The Castle DVD. Hope this isn't a sign that they won't be extras on the Frontline DVD.

Compare it to some recent DVD releases like Crackerjack and in particular Bad Eggs, you would think they would put a bit more effort into it.

Was thinking about buying The Castle DVD but certainly won't now.
