View Full Version : That was beerworthy
Unlike last weeks boring effort, that wasn't too bad tonight. At least they played out the whole game.
I like the boy J. Gallagher. He moves nicely, delivers well and doesn't take a friggin month to get rid of it unlike his namesake.
I've also liked Perrie a lot but he doesn't hurt the opposition as much as he should. Hopefully he'll learn but you could bet your house that if it's an important shot for goal or a smart pass off to a teamate, he'll miss.
Goody's a champion and keeps getting better and better as is Clarke.
Ok, it was a very depleted St Kilda but I'll sleep better tonight and can enjoy the rest of the weekend. Might even pop down to Adelaide tomorrow and watch the double blues kick butt.
It certainly was better Spogs. A good even contribution from the boys, thought they all did pretty well.
I know his kick isn't great, but I thought Ian Perrie was really good again, just roaming around the half forward line, he's got a strong mark and leads well. He's a real shining light up forward. The setup with Perrie running around and Jars in the goalsquare with Hewitt nearby worked a treat, while Vards looked threatening without actually Kicking a bag. Add Burton around there and suddenly the Crows actually look a little dangerous up forward.
The midfield kept running all night, as did the defenders, and we returned to a style similar to that of '97 and '98. But we all know the opposition wasn't up to the standard and that we really need to produce that against better quality teams to make the eight. Ah, but it's nice to dream again.....
Well about time we had a great game like that. Just like the glory days of 97/98. Just a coincidence we were playing against Blighty?
Ah, great to be a Crows supporter again!! :D

A running, rebounding defence is the key.
Stevens at CHB with the likes of Hart Smart Bassett and the changing on ballers running off half back.
J Gallagher has been fantastic
Saw him in the SANFL early last year and picked him to be an AFL player. Glad we got him.
Johncock was best for Port and Skipworth best for Eagles so we have some depth there.
Burton and Eccles to come back will be useful, hopefully in time for Showdown Ten
Must win game against the swans at home this week - we have a similar run home so of we beat them we should pip them for 8th or even higher depending on other results.

Terrific win!!
Basset runnin of back with Stevo was good. Thank Perrie for marking some awful bombs in the forward line;) Had those not been marked we mightve been burnt on the turnover:mad:
Thought Bickley deserved a mention in the best players:confused:
And er ...Go Crows
Who would of thought! 23 18 156 - 9.5 59!!!
SEN -BLOODY- SENSATIONAL!
Roo is starting to fire, and is almost like a new recruit for us in the 2nd part of the season.
Johnson, Goody and sarge all playin top footy and Macca and Jars at their usual best!
That game was almost worth 8 pts for us with the %
Anyway, this week against sydney, we beat them, which means 9-7 and a great chance to make the finals!
Anyone realise Crows and Port have the best interstate records in the comp with 4 wins and 3 losses :)
GO YOU CR0WS!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
I agree Ant about the forward line. Our season so far has been all about our hopeless forward structure.
With Bode and Burton both being possible starters against Sydney our forward line could be something like:
Bode, Jarman, Hewitt
Burton, Perrie, Vardy
which all of a sudden is looking a touch dangerous. Plenty of different options and some good crumbers.
We're not out of this yet. I just wish Perrie could kick straight.
QT mate, how was it?? You didn't tell me you were going, I was wondering where you were after the game!! How sensational was it mate, to thrash them in front of their home crowd!! And to stick it right up Blighty too, it must have been magnificent.
Spogs, yeah, spot on, not sure if they'll bring Bode right back this week after injury, he hasn't played for the Crows since round 2 I think they'll probably make him go back to Glenelg. They've been playing Johnson forward and I think that'll continue. I think Bode's definitely in our best team though, at full fitness.

Mate it was brilliant! After laughing at all the St Kilda supporters on the way out, i was looking everywhere for an internet cafe in that bloody city so i could brag about our big win:p , but they were all closed!.
Anyone wanting to go to see a crows game in melb i recommend it highly. Dont listen to these colonial bashers, the stadium is bloody wild!!!!!
Just dont sit in level 4 :D
I agree totally QT, I went and saw last year's Saints v Crows game and Colonial is a great stadium to watch footy.
I earmarked the Saints game all year to go down and have a look at Colonial. Unfortunately things came up and I couldn't go so I was pretty pissed off. I did see the Richmond game at the G though so that sort of made up for it.
If you want a strange experience go to a game at Geelong. I remember the game when Ablett cleaned up Trent Ormond Allen (I think) and the Geelong supporters next to me were apologising for GA's rough play. They are very good supporters to watch footy with though and the ground still has a suburban feel.
